  • Nipped into town this afternoon as was bored at home on my own;)
Really pleased as I got some black cargo trousers in Next that I couldnt find in my size yesterday in the WSM Next, £10 from £22 - I nearly bought them at full price but resisted. Already have them in grey and love them - great in summer with tshirts or for now, with big jumper and trainers! So, very chuffed with that purchase! Also picked up cheap hair bands for G for school, PJs for me that are going back as they'r 3/4 length, so £10 back to me. In M+S I stocked up on undies for the girls, multi-packs only £3, all needed. Treated myself to 3 books in Waterstones, they were 3 for 2 and I had a £10 voucher from Pigsback, so £5 for 3 books, nice!!
Altogether today I spent £55, £6 was in M+S on 4 packs of crispbakes to stash in freezer. A little treat for my dinners when girls are away - better than cheese on toast;)
Anyway, going to have a quick tidy/hoover and get my notebook out to work out some spending amounts for Jan. Ireally want to be organised but still not 100% sure how I'm going to do it!!
Might try compile a list of targets for 2009 too....if it's in writing I might be more inclined to keep it up....no excuses:o

  • OK, just had a quick play with the snowball calculator. If I carry on paying my debts at minimum repayments as I have been, my debt free date is Aug 2013. If I make overpayments, but at a sensible level, spending £250 pm on the debts then tat takes me to Nov 2010, so under 2 years. And if I want to be debt free by Jan 2010 then I need to be paying £435 a month:eek:
Well, right now I'm spending £130 on the loan and the egg card - not counting the catalogues, I'll use money in my savings account in Jan to just clear those. So that means I need an extra £300 a month to be debt free in a year....hmmmmmmmmmm.

Ok, not sure I have enought to ebay to make that so will maybe rethink the debt free by next Xmas idea....!!!

Back to writing lists in bed....hahaha:rotfl:

  • I've just sat and bagged up all the change in my terramundi, it's now been superglued back ready to fill up in 2009:T (has the grand sum of 40p in there right now)

I'm very pleased with the money in it....I have £164 ready for the bank now:j
Not sure what to do with it - sooooo tempted to just pop it in savings account, for summer maybe, but no I MUST pay it off the loan/egg card....or maybe I could do part pay-off, part stash away for a summer break.....hmmmmm.

Had my new loan stuff through today - when I asked for the LPI to be stopped, they said I need to open a new loan, which is OK, but I'm now worried the old one won't get closed and I'll have 2:eek: I've sent the form back today so we'll see if it all goes smoothly...

On my own again today, girls still with poorly (haha) dad. I said I'd have thenm back today and take them out but he's hanging on to them at his mum's, no doubt sat on his [STRIKE]lazy,[/STRIKE][STRIKE]fat[/STRIKE], backside while she does everything. I'll be glad to have them back, much as I love time to myslef, the house is quiet;)

  • I've had a lovely quiet day - I tidied up girls room, gave it a good dust, hoover and sort out. Also sorted out my room, which had turned into a bit of a dumping ground. Dusted all the clutter on my dressing table and enjoyed lining up all my perfume;)
I also started a new notebook for my grocery shopping, starting off with a list of meals we have to choose from then I'll start meal planning again. Think I'll have my shopping delivered at the weekend, assuming there are still delivery slots:rolleyes:
Girls are back home now, with loads more stuff to put away!! Playing on wii now, but no doubt will need an early night, they've had some late ones.
I'm off to sit with E while she draws as it's G's turn on wii now, and I'll go thro cookbooks for new ideas for us!

  • And I had my 13th NSD of Dec - over my target, v pleased!!

  • Morning all:p
Another lie in today, well I did wake up at 9, but sat with laptop for an hour.
House is a mess since girls came back last night, I had it so tidy too;)
Mission for this morning is to try and get some order back....I'm seriously contemplating taking the tree/decorations down, but feel a bit mean as it's not New Yr yet! Not that we're here tomorrow, we're going to my sister's in the morn and home NY eve in the afternoon, maybe I should wait til then.

Been looking at my banking and it's not wonderful....about £360 comes out on 1st, all dds, then rent comes out on 8th, but don't have enough in account to cover all...so will need to shift some from other account. Had a bright idea this morning.....as I seem to find it hard to see any 'extra' money I have at the end of the month, why not change my 'end of month' to as soon as the rent comes out...?? That way all my dds, well most, will have come out, as the rent, and any TCs and HB payments that go in from 8th onwards will count towards next month's money...... Hmmmmmmm I shall have a think and try writing out the month's money starting from 9th Jan maybe. Worth a try!!!

I think G wants to nip to town today to buy a DS game with her money, she completed one she got for Xmas so it's on Amazon already!! She's still in bed, E on wii, time for me to get dressed and straighten my mop.

New bank card arrived today, been thinking if I can get organised soon I'll get my TCs paid into that account and use that as spending - inc Groceries. Then the other account can take my wages and HB which just covers rent and all dds. Hmmm good idea in theory, let's see if I can get it working though:rolleyes:

Ok, off to [STRIKE]shout at[/STRIKE] gently wake up G and get my house straight...;)

  • I sat and did a meal plan from now til next Fri and then did my Tesco shopping...£52 before any offers came off and that was 1/2 price delivery too. Rather pleased with that - it'll take me to the 11th, we had more food here than I thought....I won't be buying crisps, chocolate, drinks for a long time! (And have enough alcohol to last me months)
    Mrs Organised.......:j

    Happy New Year:beer:

We had a good noght at my sister's, played on Buzz Quiz and girls all played Guitar Hero on Wii with my bro in law, very funny! We came home about 2pm today and I got all the decorations away and up the attic. Had a good dust and clean of the lounge, it looks rather bare now, but much tidier!!

I've just sat and had a fiddle with my online banking. Lots of the dds came out so I moved a bit of money from my savings account to leave just enough in current account to pay the rent and the few more dds that come out during Jan. So that account is just my dd account now. I'll ring Tax Credits tomorrow and get my weekly payments to go in my new account and that will be my money to cover all groceries, petrol etc during the month. I'll just move it to the new account until they get the move set up. I get £143 a week in TCs so that will easily cover everything. Hopefully I'll get the food bill down to less than £50 a week. I've planned on spending £200 more this month on food and petrol - but I reckon that'll be too much. Will probably need petrol tomorrow as going back to my sister's on Sat for my niece's bday party. But once we get back to school I'll be walking more, it only takes 15m, so really is lazy of me to drive:o

I'm really happy with how I've got it set up. I thought about trying for my end of month after the rent comes out on 10th, but I think if I just have my 2 accounts and leave the HB, wages in one account, that is enough to pay all the bills, so it should work that way. Hopefully my spending account will show me just what I spend/don't need each week and I can move money to savings or pay off loan/Egg as I can.

    Hmmmmmmm...a happy organised me:j

    Morning:D

NOthing much to update today, 10p on the scratchcard...but my balance had mysteriously gone up by £1, so I'm on £3.50 after less than a week - pleased with that!!

Girls still in bed, so I'm enjoying the silence;) G wants to go to town to buy herself a new pencil case....like she needs one, but she is a stationery addict....wonder where she gets that from?!:rotfl: So may have a quick hour out, then they have homework to do:eek:

Don't need any groceries - will just need to pick up a few bits of fruit and bread on Sunday for the week back at school.

Plenty of bits of housework I can be doing today - the lounge is lovely and tidy but the rest needs some attention!

So, better go and shower and get the lazybones up!
