Busy weekend for me - girls with their dad so I did Tesco shopping yesterday...£63:eek: But did get a few bits to take to my sister's on Xmas day and have enough food for a while now. Aim to have NSDs til Friday, we shall see. Bank looking rather low as rent due out on Tues, but luckily tax credits go in on Thurs so balance will recover. I did buy girls a little steroe for their room, takes ipods too, that's a joint Xmas present. And got some decorations today as house was a bit pathetic. I didn't care (bah humbug!) but felt sorry for girls so made it all sparkly and festive!!
Most of my present shopping is done, just a few bits left that shouldn't cost more than £20 altogether.
Not happy with the bank balance but it's always tighht before the rent comes out. HB goes in next Mon too, so I know it recovers. I'll be glad when Jan comes and I'm really going to knuckle down, track everything I buy and try to overpay on the loan.
House isn't wonderfully tidy, just didn't have time! Need to iron tonight, after I've dished up our roast chicken...I have been good!!!;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Just checked my Ipsos panel account and had enough points for a £10 WHS voucher...so that's on it's way...nice. Still got the £10 Waterstones one in my purse, not been into town to spend it yet. (Books for me??!!)
One dd in shower the other watching Home Alone. Kitchen all tideied up after dinner, now on to the ironing:mad:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Forgot to say about my bargain at the weekend - saw a lovely cardi in Tesco, beige chunky one with short sleeves, good to wear over a long sleeved top. Well I ummed and aahed for a while then thought I could always take it back to my local Tesco if I decided against it - anyway, got to the till and it wasn't £12, it was £3.50, so pleased with that!!
In New Look today we got G some school trousers as she only has the one pair that fit her now, she's stretched! Anyway, they were £8 and got to till and they came up as £3:D
I love an unexpected bargain!!
Also got girls a pair of ballet pumps each for wearing at Xmas, £12 each. Treated us all to sausage and chips from the chippy - £5.70, thats the treat for the week!!! Very quiet weekend at home hopefully, don't fancy doing much.
Poor bank looked low today but £143 tc in tomorrow to help it recover:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
6th NSD of Dec today, pretty pleased with that so far. Really tired this week, can tell it's nearing the end of term! All very busy at school of course - today was KS2 disco so stayed to help dish out drinks, then home at about 5.30. About to go get ready for bed, such a treat to be in bed early with my book...and saves having the heating on too;)
Thank goodness it's Friday tomorrow:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
We've had a really nice Sunday - prob not the most DFW of days but we've enjoyed it and that makes it worth it! We went into town nice and early and was really good, finished all my shopping. I did buy the girls a Subway lunch too (£5)and a few bits in Claire's for Xmas. We've done lots of wrapping too this afternoon, so feeling very organised! Never am I finished with my shopping so early! Even teacher's gifts are all wrapped and under the tree;)
DD2 having her shower now, the DD1 can so we're all ready to sit down with dinner (lasagne ) and watch Elf at about 6.20 I think - we love it!!
Next weekend girls are with their dad so I'll be able to get all the wrapping of their presents done.
I did most of the cleaning yesterday as eldest child was a brat to me when we were out shopping so I came home and had a cleaning frenzy! I just need to do the ironing tonight, probably while the lasagne is in the oven.
Hmmm, quite pleased with the weekend! Especially as I have done all my spending on presents, have enough snacks to take to my sister's for Xmas, just will buy some more alcohol:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

I've just been browsing on the board and seen hypno's new thread about paying off £20k by next Christmas...which has had me playing with the snowball calculator and thinking I can try to pay off my debts by next Christmas.
I'm going to have a fiddle about with figures soon and see how much I'll have to be making/saving in order to do this. If Hypno and all the other very impressive DFWs can pay off that much then surely I can pay off about £6k which I think is the max debt I have...I must sort out figures and have a plan!!!!;)
Exciting......:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Well that's me on holiday now for 2 weeks:beer:
Girls are away this weekend so I've been busy trying to get my finances in order - I started a thread asking how other people organise their money and how they keep track of everything. So, with lots of ideas, I have a lovely organised book with list of dds and when they all come out. I have my debts listed, interest rates, income and all outgoings. On paper I have about £600 after bills/rent paid so if I spend about £200 on food, then £400 left over - where is that?!?!!
I will keep a list of everything I buy, often I forget where I've used my debit card.
I've put all the debts on my signature so I can keep track and watch them go down. The freemans was on zero last month I know, but I bought the girls a big quilted fleece for their beds, had £8 commission off that, so thats the £32 - MSE I thought as I won't worry about the heating not blasting out in their room with these fab blankets, I have one too from last yr, very warm.
Someone on here kindly sent me a spreadsheet they use, so will try to get to grips with that:eek: I really want to get the debt paid off - when I add up my income/outgoings I should be able to do it pretty quickly...and if I get my backside moving with ebay again in the NY then I'll be debt-free this time next year with any luck, how good would that be?!
ANyway, quiet weekend for me. NSD today and tomorrow I'll nip to Tesco but wont need much as not at home much over Christmas. Have loads of nibbles to take to my sisters though. Presents all bought, just need to wrap the girls' things. On Monday we'll do some baking, nice little gifts for them to give my family too. Going for peppermint creams, malteser cake and choc truffles I think...mmmmmm;)
Anyway, off to do a bit more tidying before a lazy evening with laptop and tv:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I've just realised (durrrrrrrr) that I could pay off my silly LPF card online...I've been thinking I could only pay by sending them a cheque and just never got round to it! SO I've paid it!!! £88.69 gone. Monthly repayments were only £5 but £2 of that was interest, so thoguth it had to go.
Now can go cross it out on my lovely new sig:jI really need to sort out a new signature!0
