Why there's a special section
There's is no definitive way to find the cheapest cartridges, no price comparison engines cover it comprehensively. Therefore I thought we could harness Moneysavers power to do this properly

What to do
When you find a cheap supply for your HP printer, please note what the cartridge was and how much you paid, plus any other hints and tips.

To do it - just click reply to the thread

The following list of cheap suppliers was brilliantly compiled by chatter B4UgoZzz from other peoples post on the sites. They're a good startin point.

  • Hi all,

I have an old HP Deskjet 400 printer and my compatible ink cartridges have always been purchased from

    https://www.inkcycle.co.uk

    Re manufactured colour cartridge £11.75

    Re manufactured black cartridge £9.00

All cartridges from the abovementioned supplier are delivered post free if you choose the second class option. (which I do)

I normally get mine within 4 to 5 days.

    Excellent service and value

We use a lot of HP catridges at work and to cut the cost we have tried recycled refills on several occasions and always been disappointed - we always go back to original HP cartridges!

However, personally I have bought genuine HP catridges on https://www.ebay.co.uk at good prices and this is the way I intend to buy any future genuine cartridges.

When looking on the "net" for cheap original HP cartridges for my Photosmart printer I found Photo Glossy to be the cheapest. Based in the Channel Islands they provide a fast reliable service. Try them at http://www.photoglossy.com/acatalog/index.html

  • Used Inkcycle for hp deskjet 920c cartridges. first order costing £11.50 for black (42ml) and £15.94 (45ml)for colour. more recent order for black was £10.50. No postage charges and very fast delivery.

Note that the black cartridge leaves wet ink on paper (however no problem if you set printer properties to 'draft') and has totally messed up the ink warning system - it has been at 0% for some 4 months now. Otherwise very good value :)

I have had experience with several HP printers using various remanufactured cartridges and originals and have worked in the IT industry for some 9 years.

In my experience refilled cartridges always give variable quality whereas original cartridges give consistent, reliable results. I therefore always go for an original cartridge but at the cheapest price.

I agree with the post above, ebay is a very good place to find cheap original cartidges and sometimes 'deals' can be struck up outside of ebay with the sellers (as long as they have a high feedback rating).

In the past I have used http://www.refilltoner.com/ with success- Note this is for laser refills.

Hi, I've an HP 656c printer & have just changed to compatable refills from Red Shark (https://www.4rst.com)

To date I have been well pleased with the quality including photos.

Prices are about half of the official HP's.

I then visited each of their web sites, and value for money, I eventually ordered form 7dayshop.com.
However, that was 7 days ago.
Delivery was promised in 3/5 working days!!!!!!!!!

Goods ordered Thursday 19th Feb arrived, from a Guernsey address, on Monday 1st March.
Must have known I was Welsh and would appreciate a delivery on St David's Day.
Although their prices are hard to beat, my advice is order well in advance, otherwise you pay an extra premium for quick delivery which takes the gloss off their prices.

    I'm with AllanP.

Ebay is a great place to get anything you could possibly want at a great price.

My entire office has been equipped from there, except for the PC and printer which I had already.

Certainly worth a try for cartridges too! :)

I just pop in now and then.... :)
