If I decide to transfer only a few of the payments on my old current account, would I still be eligible for the £100 for switching over? Or do I need to transfer all the payments over?

    Thanks in advance.

I moved from the HSBC and one of my DD has not been paid because my wages hasn't gone across into the account yet.

    Not a happy bunny!

I will pay the DD by debit card, but it's more hassle for me...

When I rang to ask if any other DD were due and would they be paid then told me to ring some other number, after sitting on hold for 20 minutes I couldn't be arsed...

    Not a good first impression!

Still not received my £100 either! Wonder when that'll come?
  • Has ANYONE had their £100 for setting up this account yet? I set mine up in August.

btw I have also had problems with the Direct Debits: one of mine has gone missing - the rent for where I live

No £100 but only opened my account couple weeks ago. I read that the interest rate for this a/c will be 1% (in credit)?
Also, I have never had an overdraft so could someone explain how it works?
If I have £1000 overdraft can i simply tranfer a £1000 out of the account if I have £1 in the a/c? And am i correct to assume that there is no charge for the first 12 months?

I think you need to transder all the payments.... this extract is taken from page 1 ...
My advice would be to confirm the stipulations over the phone!!!

Yes. Part of the conditions are that you have to use their free switching service, which means they will transfer all your standing orders and direct debits and your salary to your new A+L account, and then you must have your old account closed.

    Small print from website.
    1. You must switch all your direct debits and standing orders to the account using our Premier Switching Service, within 11 weeks of opening the account. You must ask to do this in the application (no cashback for those who never?).

You must pay £500 per month. You must pay the first £500 within 11 weeks of opening the account, whether or not your salary or income is to be transferred using the PS Service....

I have also just received my £100 incentive payment from A&L.

I also got £50 cashback through TopCashback.

I used A&L's switching service but switched my salary myself and have left my old account open.

The account was opened at the beginning of August (around 5th), TopCashback became payable 2nd Oct (received by BACS on 4th Oct), A&L incentive paid today (13th Oct).

I shall be closing the account after the interest free overdraft period, their customer service is terrible.

    Regards
