Applied for this last night and had accepted email this morning. How long before it tracks in Quidco do you think?
It took five days for mine to track so don't panic, just hope the switchover is successful for me and they don't stuff things up."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
The letter detailing the switching says all the payments will be transfered unless I tell them otherwise withinn 14 days. I should leave sufficient funds in my old account in case the debits are not switched in time.
Now you've got me worried, most of my DDs and SOs come out in the first two weeks of the month, I've declined the offer to change my salary over to the new account as i don't think my employer would let them do this, I was hoping to get the salary changeover done for 31st Oct and hoped that they would transfer payments over for the same period, it doesn't soound as if it will be that simple, I could keep a couple of hundred in my old account but not enough for all my payments, would have to get double salary for that"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Three months ago I opened an Alliance & Leicester Account because I thought HSBC were being so unhelpful. Within three weeks of opening the account I realised how awful A&L are to deal with, how impossible they are to get hold of, and how inconsistant they are. So, three weeks after opening the account, before I even used the account, and before I even got any cards etc for the account, I went into the branch and closed it.
A month later, on payday, I discovered that A&L had not closed my account, but instead had gone ahead and, without my consent, had switched all my direct debits from HSBC. This meant I had my entire month's salary in an A&L account to which I had no debit card, and ringing around was impossible as I couldn't get through without having an account number & pin! (Which I didn't have, as I wasn't supposed to have an account with them at all). Eventually, having rung the lost credit card line and kicked up a fuss so someone would help me, I was informed that I could transfer my salary back to my HSBC account, but it would take 4 working days. I was furious and said I obviously needed my salary today! Payday!
In the end, the only option A&L offered me was for me to go into my nearest branch, withdraw all my money in CASH (a month's salary!!!!) and then deposit it at HSBC. They called the branch to authorise my taking out such a huge sum, and felt this was a big favour they were doing me. The woman at the branch even laughed at me bundling all the cash into my handbag, even though I was upset and furious.
With my money eventually safely back in HSBC, A&L then suggested it would be easier if I called all the companies I had direct debits with, and ask them to change it back to HSBC myself. Again, I baulked and demanded they do it, which they did. They then closed my account once and for all.
Or had they?
A month later, I recieved a statement of my account. I then recieved another letter the following week, advising "the switch from HSBC to A&L" was almost complete. I rang A&L (again, tried seven numbers before I could speak to someone as I didn't have a pin number) and they told me that my account was actually still active. This time they promised they would close it. I am not holding my breath.
£100 is not worth it (and certainly I didn't get it). I am now wary of any bank that has to bribe you bank with them.0 -
In the final stages of my switching to A&L and so far everything has gone smoothly.
However, nothing tracked on Quidco....0 -
Just received an email after applying for an A&L Premier account. I applied for the overdraft really, as I'm losing my interest free overdraft on my graduate account next week. But the email says:
"Based on the information you gave us, we are not able to offer you an
overdraft. If you applied for a Moneyback Credit Card with your Premier
Current Account application, this has been cancelled. However, if you use
our Premier Switching Service, we may be able to consider matching an
overdraft you have with your existing bank."
Has anybody else had this kind of response? Any idea why 'the info i provided' means I can't have an overdraft?0 -
Hi
Just to say I got my £50 cashback through TopCashback paid into my bank account today
It showed as 'payable' on the TCB site two days ago and I received it by BACS today.
It took just over two months from application to cashback being paid.
Not had a sniff of the £100 incentive money from A&L yet, will just have to wait and see about that one.
Regards
