Hello,
I am new to the forum and would appreciate help for the following strange situation.
I have been bidding for a 5 star hotel in London (Mayfair Soho) and as in the guide rebidding immediately by adding an area where there are no 5 star hotels (greyed out). All well and good but having added
3. Finsbury and Islington
4. Hammersmith
12. Wembley
without the median retail price changing (£399)
when I add
5. Kensington - Earl's Court
the median retail price changes to £265 although I have gone into the priceline website in another window and rechecked that there are not any 5 star hotels in that area.
Has this happened to anyone else? Does it mean they have recently added a 5 star in that area?
Many thanks for any help.

Always IGNORE any "warnings" or other Retail Prices that PL pops up.
They are just tricks to get you to bid more :eek:rechecked that there are not any 5 star hotels in that area.
Have you seen my Guide?0 -
Many, many thanks for the quick reply. And now I have indeed read your great guide. In fact, I wasn't taking any notice of the median retail price but the fact that it changed started me worrying that PL would try and stick me with a hotel in Kensington - Earl's Court zone.
Thanks once more.0 -
So after saving about £300 by bidding for my New York hotel via Priceline ........ I also managed to bag an upgrade to a deluxe room/suite by befriending & chatting to the hotel on Facebook :-) love it - so overall saved about £500 !! How bloody fantastic :-)0

I'm thinking of using this in New York.
What is the criteria with rooms? Are they all private ensuite rooms or does it depend on the star rating you opt for?
I couldn't see an option for room options that's all.
Many thanks.0 -

Have you read my guide ?
Priceline only guarantee a room for double occupancy for 2 adults
What you get when you check in depends on the hotel.
So long as the room can accomodate 2 adults then PL has met its guarantee.0 -
Hi, I am trying to bid for a hotel through PL UK and am using a UK registered mastercard. I keep getting the message: 'We're sorry but we were unable to authorize your credit or debit card and could not process this request. Your card has not been charged for Request Number'. My bank has not received any request. Please help.0

Hi
Could be:
1 Have you entered the correct details including the CVS number ? (Last three on the back of the card.
2. PL have a glitch in their web-site today
Do you have another credit card you could use?
Otherwise I've no idea0 -
Thanks for the guide! I have tried to read as much as i can before bidding but just want to double check something... As I want to try and get a hotel in Germany, I will have to use the .com site as the co.uk site only allows you to bid on American hotels? As long as i use the fake American address format in the guide it should all be ok to try and bid on a hotel?
Many thanks
