Hi im new to priceline but read the forum and want to try and bid for our trip to the states next month. I have tried to register the credit card for the UK that I have, and it says only US and Canada addresses for credit cards. the operator on chat live, said that they currently dont accept any other cards but US ones, and directed me to their sister site, bookings.com!
Anyone used a UK credit/debit card to bid>? thanks0 -

Read my guide as it does tell you how to use the USA site

Not really :
If prices\occupancy levels are high then hotels will not sell discounted rooms to priceline.
You may get a bargain if you can wait until the last minute (days before).
as reserved rooms by travele agents may be released if not taken up.
Book a cancellable back up now and play the waiting game.
Look at Hotwire to see what they are charging for their secret rooms (usually a good price inidcator for priceline).0 -

Hi
am going to New York, Sept 24 for 5 days then Washington for another 5 days, have already tried bidding on Priceline without success and thought maybe was to far in advance. Is there an ideal time to be bidding, budget is 4* for £100 or less. Any help and suggestions would be great as never done anything like this before. Thanks0 -

Read my guide
No best time for bidding TBHO as there are so many variables.
Research the lowest price for the time of year\hotel rating\ect and put in some low ball bids say once a week.
Keep an eye on the forums to see if anyone else reports wins near your time.
Book a cancellable reservation now so if all else fails you have a room.
Ask for help at Betterbidding.
Good luck0 -
Hi there. I am new to the forum so hope I am not asking a stupid question... Watched priceline.com story last night on TV about bidding for hotels worldwide so decided to see if I could get a hotel in August for Paris. After having tried unsuccessfully to pay, I contacted them and an agent told me that you can only bid for your own price for hotels if you hold a USA or Canadian credit card. Otherwise they said the only option is to go for the lists of hotels on the site. You pay in US Dollars and charged accordingly on your UK card. So can anyone tell me if that is actually correct or not. I don't understand why the TV show would not have mentioned that. Or did I miss something ... ?
THanks anyway for your patience and hopefully someone can help !0
