Priceline have given me an unsuitable hotel for £57. I have chatted with them and they completely refuse to give me my money back. Unless you are absolutely sure what you are doing I advise you avoid this company. Please read the MSE site's warnings very carefully and avoid this company unless you are willing to accept the wrong hotel in the wrong place for the wrong number of people.

I promised I would let the forum know in my chat with Priceline, happy to attach that chat if it is helpful for anyone.

If you can attach the chat so we can see who was in the wrong and maybe you can elaborate on what\where\how much etc?

    Hi.
I'm trying to follow the more advanced step-by-step guide but I'm having a problem.
In point 5 and the section 'How to find the right dummy areas to add', it states, "Go to Priceline’s ‘name your own price’ section, and before bidding, plug in your dates and destination. At the ‘select the areas you want to stay’ stage, examine the list of zones, deciding which ones you want to stay in."
I'm not seeing an option to select areas. Instead I just get a list of zones with 'successful winning bids". Is there another way to find this information out in another way.
    My destination is Manhattan.
    Many thanks.

Is there another guide that you could recommend? I've had all my bids rejected today. One night in Midtown-ish area of Manhattan this Saturday. I bid 11 times, Rising from £45 to £70. 4 Star to 2.5 Stars. Adding areas in this order : 12, 18, 14, 2, 3, 6, 13, 9. Any advice would be appreciated.

What is the price for this Saturday at your expected hotels?

Have you done a dummy bid on Hotwire to see what that shows up?

Possibly ask for a strategy on BetterBidding

Ah right. I didn't see that it was a hyperlink. Reading it all now.
    Thank you

Prices on Hotline and Priceline and LastMinute.com are coming in at £90-115 for my areas and 3*/4*. I was taking away the extra tax from my bid. Do you think I'm trying too low? (I haven't finished reading your guide.)

Have a look at the BiddingTraveller website as that walks you through the process and gives reasonable bid guesses.

How many nights are you hoping to stay?

Do a quote on priceline express. Then deduct 10% when you bid. That should work.
