Im a first time priceliner and just wondering if the taxes and fees added on to the cost include the 5% city tax in Amsterdam?

    Yes it will.
  • Thankyou for the replies.

Really struggling at the moment, my latest bid of £48 a night for 3 nights in Amsterdam has been rejected for 5 & 4 star hotels in both the City & Museum Quarter and City South zones. On other forums i've seen people getting deals around the same dates for cheaper, for 4 star? I've not even had a counter offer. Does anyone know what the 3 star priceline hotels are like for Amsterdam? As might have to consider those now as I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

    Are any listed on BetterBidding?

I take it you have read the paragraph
How much should I bid? on my guide?

What are the prices for "normal" rates?
What are the prices found on Hotwire?
Have you asked for help from BB?

Yeah i read your guide beforehand it was extremely helpful. I had a look on the two websites you had listed n there BB and BFT and found that someone had managed to get a 4* in the centre with similar dates to mine for $70 a night. Im up to £55 a night at the moment and not even had a counter offer yet.
  • I'm wondering if bidding in only one area has anything to do with it? As it asks you to choose 2 or more areas but lets me go ahead with the bid after only selecting one?

The other lucky bidder may have placed his bid a while ago and those rates may have gone.

What are the standard rates for that time?

    What are the HOTWIRE rates?

Bidding in more than one area obviously gives you more flexibility if you don´t mind either area.

Ask for bidding help on BB if you are getting desparate.

Hi, I'm off to New York 4th - 8th December with my OH. I've been before, he hasn't. Last time I stayed at the Ramada New Yorker (it was 2007 when they had the offer, if you found it cheaper you got 1st night free), and had a fab time. I also stayed 2 nights in the Radisson Lexington, which wasn't a patch on the Ramada (did that through Priceline and got a bargain).

Now, my dilemma. I'd love to go back to the New Yorker, and am tracking the prices but it's showing about £980 for the 4 nights. I'm browsing Better Bidding, and am going to bid on priceline tonight... I think...:) but.... I keep thinking, if I bid on 3* Madison Square Garden and I don't get the New Yorker, I'll be sick, so should I just go totally mad and try for a 5* somewhere else and try for a bargain? I'm talking myself round in circles. (I know you can't answer this for me, but just want to throw it out there....)!

    thanks
    Bern :j
