Morning :hello:
Mr troo's boss had a break-in at home, some of his biz paperwork was stolen. He's cancelled everything, including the chequebook - but forgot to tell us, so the cheque I put in the bank the other day has bounced. I have the grand total of £8.42  He now has an emergency chequebook so will give us a new cheque today - 'no good' says I, it won't clear before the bills go out, we need cash. Mr troo will make sure he gets cash, he knows that if he doesn't, I'll ring the boss and have a row that'll start with a very sarcastic 'now look here Mr-Multi-Millionaire-Don't-Give-A-Toss-About-Your-Staff.........' which is wrong really cos they do look after their staff (well, the ones that actually bother to work, that is)
2nd load of washing is on. The animals haven't been cleaned out for 2 days so I'll be doing that too. By then the washing will be dry so I can do the ironing.
I nipped out to the greenhouse last night, I have almost-ripe, orangey-red tomatoes :T
Loads of berries and salad leaves ready, so that's lunch taken care of :TI am a coffee bean0 -
Morning everyone!
Congratulations Twink for the HobNob recipe making Martins weekly email!:T
Quickie from me as I'm helping out today at the nursery fun day - and it's Pirates!! - so I'm dressed as one!:rotfl: Made loads of cakes to put on the stall too! Don't think the strike action has affected our school? If they have - then I will just have to come home and eat all the cakes myself!:D
DH is off to a funeral today, his cousin died suddenly about 2 weeks ago, and they had to do a post mortem.
Last nite I went to see Mamma Mia - which was really good!!!:D
Anniebooklover - hope you feel better soon

Good morning all! Lovely sunshine here at the mo!
Dishes are done and something from the fridge for tea for children, whoopsies that I couldn't resist but couldn't get in the freezer
dd1 has her school prom tonight, so I am collecting her at lunchtime, along with a neighbour's son, and taking her to have her hair cut and put up, don't know how the poor lad will feel about that :rotfl: She has a lovely dress and some really high heels, which she's been practising walking in for the past couple of weeks, really funny watching her hoover and load the dishwasher wearing them though
dd3 is off to see High School Musical tonight, oh is taking her but has managed to control his excitement well:rotfl: She is fit to pop, she's sooooo excited!
I'm doing dd1's make up, to ensure that I'm happy with how she looks, don't want her looking like something from Halloween, and then dropping her at a friends house for nibbles and mocktails, before they get in the limo that's taking them to the prom.
My day isn't very os at all, need to pick up dd1's HSM outfit from Argos, thought it would be a nice surprise, and get a few more bits to make up my friend's birthday pressie, her funny overnight kit, guess that's sort of os, will be in a box rather than a hamper though! Then I shall be off to w**k later - woohoo!
Hope everyone has a lovely day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
:hello: Good morning!
Lovely sunny day here so I hope (hayfever allowing) to get some garden work done today. I managed to get enough produce (spinach leaves, rocket, radish, spring onion and tomatoes) from the garden for a small salad yesterday so i am :j
Today will be courgette and tomato bake as I have another couple of courgettes ready for picking.
(((hugs))) to smoky, PP, chrisca, Candygirl, Ivyleaf and OH, Mrs Mix, Jayward and anyone else who could use one.
Off to walk Penny in a little while before it gets too hot! She loves chasing tennis balls but has to be bribed to let go of them!
I have some potatoes to use up so might make AB's potato soup recipe from her blog, wonder if it would freeze? There are a lot of us now with blogs aren't there? I started mine a couple of months ago sort of as a record of how I am managing with the rising prices etc., but I am now so addicted to reading as many of the others as I can that the housework is piling up oops!;)
Have a lovely day

Good morning!:hello:
Thanks for the good wishes.
Catznine - I'm very impressed that you're managing to grow salad! Well done! I can't manage any gardening atm, nor can DH apart from an occasional bit of weeding and even more occasional mowing; our dear neighbour gave us a tuber last week when she was dividing a big tropical lily-type thing, she did it last year too, she's so kind but just can't get her head round our not being able to dig a hole atm, bless her. I'll just have to hope I manage to plant the tuber before it dries out too much. Last year I ended up giving it to my DD1 but she didn't have time to plant it so it went for composting.
Penny_Pincher - so sorry your OH is still so poorly, I hope his meds kick in soon. I can understand your frustration at not being able to look after him ((((HUGS)))) Glad he was pleased with his birthday presents.
(((((HUGS))))) to Chrisca, Smoky and all in need of some!
Betheebee - so pleased to hear your news! Glad you enjoyed your holiday, you really needed a break.
Troo - imagine the size of cage you'd need for a capybara!:D Lovely pics.
Welcome Icka!
Hope everyone who's not well is feeling better today.

Forgot to say yesterday (too busy moaning) that DD1 and DSIL have given us their dishwasher!!!:j :j :j (This is our daughter with 14yo DGS, not the one with the babies) They didn't have room for it in their kitchen except on the draining board, and she got really fed up with it blocking half the window. They bought it with the idea that DSIL, who's registered blind and can't wash up by hand as he breaks too many things, could at least load a DW, thus taking one task off DD's hands. But he still broke things anyway, and as the DW was on the draining board DD found it difficult to reach up to unload it. Just before we went on holiday, when I was feeling exhausted, she said "By the way, you don't want a dishwasher, do you?" She must have realised how desperate I was when rather than saying "Your dishwasher? Goodness, are you sure?" I just said "Oh, yes please!" in heartfelt tones
So we've got it, and it doesn't really fit into the kitchen very well as there's an old water pipe in the wall behind it so it sticks out a long way (luckily it's a slimline one, or I wouldn't be able to open the cupboard under the sink:rolleyes:
), but I don't care. DS plumbed it in while we were away, and I'm hoping he'll find time to do the permanent electrics bit when we're away again next month - it just involves drilling a hole in the back of the cupboard so DW can be plugged into the wall socket. Atm I use it with an extension lead. Now that I'm feeling better I've decided I'll only use it when I'm not well enough to wash up by hand, or when there's more washing up than usual, as I'm sure it must use a lot of electricity.
DH had been feeling better since changing his diet, but wasn't so well yesterday and ended up going to bed in the afternoon for a couple of hours. It turned out he'd risked eating some boiled sweets  - hopefully he now realises it's just not worth it! We've found out our local bakery does a Low GI loaf, full of different seeds etc. I don't know if we'd want such seedy bread every day, but found a stoneground wholemeal one in the supermarket yesterday (a "half loaf", eight slices so ideal for the two of us for 2 days).
Right, better go, I'm waffling and there's some washing to hang on the line - only some pairs of socks, so I'll put them on the "smalls dryer" then i can get them in a hurry if it starts to rain - it was sunny but has suddenly clouded over.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible!
best wishes
ivyleaf xx:wave:0
