Sorry, one other question: If I change my plan does that mean I sign up for a new contract of however many months or will I be out of contract as I am at the moment? What is BT's rule regarding house move and termination charges?0

I changed to monthly billing using THIS FORM so as to avoid any possibility of misunderstanding(s). Yes, I now get monthly bills (online).Thanks. Can you just make these changed to your account online? Also, the Monthly Whole Bill Direct Debit sounds interesting. Can you change to that online and I am assuing that means you get monthly bills instead of quarterly? I do agree that the Primus "promise" does sound a little fishy.
I see no reason you should not use that for upgrading to the Unlimited Anytime Plan at the same time (I believe a 12 month contract for that plan would then start).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

I am on the free calls evenings/weekends that was after 6pm but are now after 7pm. I signed a 12 month contract with BT Sept 09 to get this but now I want to change to another provider that still gives free calls after 6pm.
As BT have materially changed the contract, am I still contractually bound to the agreement until Sept 10 or can I get out of it because they made the substantial change to it ?0 -

As far as I know, you would need to prove to them that you made calls during the 6 p. m to 7 p. m. period on a regular basis, if you can then you should be able to get out of it.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
I can confirm lomhlaba's post, I just did the same thing and BT offered me the same deal.0

Same here, however BT wanted me to go onto evening and weekend package, 12 month contract, they credit £36. onto your next bill.
However as I am with Virgin ADSL for BB and evening and weekend calls for £10. per month, by moving the calls to Primus, (which you have to using them as they don't do line rental only), I would lose the "bundle" from Virgin and my BB would go up to £16. per month.
So I would be worse off.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

I'm annoyed, all they offered me was to pay an extra £3.99 to go on anytime plan. Have let it roll onto new contract (E+W) and will use 18185 as much as possible for mobiles and daytime.0 -
Just spoken to BT this morning and as I am on contract until November anyway, I cannot change suppliers unless I pay a £7.50 per month penalty. However they offered me same deal and with the Anytime plan this works out at £13.53 per month, (with the £3 per month rebate) and is less than £1 per month more than I am paying at the moment. OK it's paper free billing and I am tied in for another 12 months but as there seems to be no signs of o2's package happening soon and I would have to wait 7 months anyway, I am going for the package.- they offered to drop my line rental & free evening/weekend calls package to £8.54 / month - making it cheaper than a switch to Primus! As cost was my only reason for switching provider, I was happy to stay with BT at this new price for another 12 months."0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -
Hi,
Just to keep hope for others trying to save with current packages. I too called BT 1 month AFTER my 12 month contract for Free Evenings & Weekends automatically renewed, firstly told them that I hadn't been contacted regarding renewal, stated that I wished to end my free evening package and go to basic and they kindly assured that I would not be charged!
Then proceeded to ask if they could offer a better deal. Was transferred to another dept. and told them about Primus (They had never heard of) but without any hassle said that they could do either £8.54 for same deal, or £12.57 for Anytime package, both including Line Rental and neither tied in to any contract...
Needless to say I stayed with BT, as much as my better judgement objected.
It's worth a 10 minute phone call...
Good Luck!0
