Sorry £1.99 for a phone which is relatively new (LG KC550, not the best but 5 megapixel camera) on a deal offering 600 m inutes with 500 texts on O2 was cheap.
And it was too good to be true - as soon as I had placed this order I showed it to a friend of mine who looked at it and we BOTH said the same thing - "bet they dont send it".0 -

As long as P4U didn't go into administration and provided you follow the infamous "ground rules", you almost certainly would have received your cash back.
In the future, I'd also recommend you go through Quidco.0 -
out of interest, was this going via quidco?
My OH had a simlar problem, they declined him online due to credit. Funny that as all debts have been settled and he has a mobile phone contract at the mo, and when we checked his credit score it was about as good as it could be.
Amazingly they gave him the deal over the phone tho  we suspected that it was auto so 6that the quidco payment would be refused, although there is a possiblity that we are cynics
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I ordered the SE 902 from Phones4u, half price line rental plus quidco , which took it down to £12.50 per month for 12 months, on Tuesday. Suprise ,suprise, email back on Thursday saying sorry I'd failed the credit check or didn't have enough credit history etc etc. I have a mortgage, credit card , mobile contract and clean credit history - these 'sorry emails' only seem to happen when too many people take up a really cheap offer. Have now ordered Samsung G600, 11 months @ £1.99 in my wife's name - am not holding my breath! :rotfl:0

Just to make it clear - my issue is not cashback related - having placed an order, they decided not process the order on the basis of some bad credit - which turns out to be for a lot of the people who placed the order for this deal - and apparently there was "an error" at the o2 end while processing the order. In short they didnt want to go throguh with the order.
I have never had bad credit - once Argos turned me down, ordered to my credit report from Experian - absoutely nothing on it.
Even the email they sent to me saying bad credit looked as they had been forwarding it as it started with

All my contracts with P4u (5 so far) have been cheaper than that (totally free after redemption) and all have been honoured, so your argument doesn't hold water. The reason I knew they would not honour it was that this particular deal was far too cheap - £1.99 a month after redemption on a 12 month contract with O2.0 -

His argument holds plenty of water. The fact that the deals were not honoured (guised as "credit check failures") and that they were removed from the website within 24 hours suggests P4U clocked on to how much they were actually set to lose, offering these brand new phones as opposed to the crummy "J700" plastered all over M2YD.0 -
I decided for the fun of it to complain to o2 directly - even pointed them to this web site to say others had been affected - I dont think they even read my message properly.
Instead they (o2) tell me they use Equifax plc for credit check etc.
So that got me thinking - why then did the email from phones4u mention Experian and not Equifax> > Dear Sir/Madam,

Actually the J700 is a really nice phone; does everything it should and the battery lasts for ages. My daughter is really impressed with her pink version.KettleFish wrote: »the crummy "J700" plastered all over M2YD.0 -
Not sure why we are even mentioning j700 in this thread - but for the sake of it - the j700 currently on offer on phones4u for 11 months free (40 a month) means £40 for 12 months. Oh j700 - ok if you want "a phone" with 1.3mega pixel camera which is 3 years old and does nothing else but make calls.
The actual deal which started this thread was £1.99 per month over 12 months (total less than £24) - a deal which phones4u did not honour due to their so called credit failures (which they admitted on phone to me was an error or so they blamed on o2 end).0
