I do have the right to my credit file being processed correctly0 -
Any company has the right to refuse a contract, whether you like it or not. Your rights extend to having access to your credit files for a small administrative fee. All organisations set their own acceptance criteria for credit checks. They do not have to disclose them and there's nothing you can do about it unless there's an obvious error on your external files which you can correct. That's just the way it is.0

What's "correctly" - they (the company doing the credit check) apply their rules as they see fit. Your credit file is just the source data they put into their formula. If they get a "computer says no" - then they are saying no based on their rules.

Other applied for T mobile deal through dialaphone and was rejected according to them by the network.
He asked for any information relating to him under Data protection act as we know he has 100% credit history for over 25 years. They ignored letter, so resent it by recorded delivery. They have still ignored it.
Contacted T Mobile who said that they had not received any request from Dialahphone (same company as phones4u) but did say there had been some issues with them putting the same contract through twice one after the other which cocks up the system and automatically rejects them both as they enter the same phone number.
T Mobile check OH to see if he was eligible customer and the computer said yes. He said "no thanks" and T mobile have now written twice asking him to become a customer. Too late he went for Virgin Mobile £12 a month deal. Same price as Dialaphone deal he wanted but no cash back. Only loss is £60 quidco

i am due to apply via P4U for a o2 mobile phone on contract are all mobile networks have high credit requirements? i have recently moved into my new house (mortgaged) and have got a new job with a good salary (48K) only have 6k on my credit card. Will any of those things work against me?0

Maybe the house move - are you on the electoral register elsewhere?
Irrespective, all you can do is try to get it, and see what happens.0 -
Well its a con - here is the story.
On 15th July 2008 I placed an order on phones4 web site for an O2 phone, it was dirt cheap deal - 1.99 for 12 months on a 12 months contract.
I showed this to my friend who could not believe the deal on offer - we both agreed that phones4 probably will not honour the deal.
The order I placed was for a phone for a relative using my own details as I pay for it.
On 17th July - no phone had arrived but I got an email saying my credit check had failed.
I phone phones4u and told them how can my credit have failed - I already have a phone deal with them and have another phone with O2 already. They said O2 had rejected it because of credit check. The woman then said there had been an error.
After nearly an hour of telling them what I thought, they could not give me the deal because it had been removed on 16th July 2008. It went so quickly.
I also complained via email to them. A chap from phones4u rang me today telling me what had happened with a lot of people who ordered this deal was that there had been an error at the O2 end - NOT A CREDIT CHECK FAILURE - an error in the system that links O2 to phones4u.
Nothing to do with any credit check - this was a blatant deception - they did not live upto the bargain they had offered - the chap said lots of people had been affected by this so called credit check failure which was due to an error at O2 end. He did say he would see if he could get my order through - came back after talking to someone else - nope no go they can complete the order.
So in the end it was no bargain - PHONES4U did not live up to their end of the bargain - the emails they sent to customers saying their credit checks failed are in most cases going to be incorrect and just a cover to not honour the deal they advertised.0 -

Why did you think P4u would not honour the deal? I've just finished 2 contracts with them: free Samsung E840s + 12 months free by rebate with 500 mins/texts per month plus cashback from Rpoints. Got the phones, got the mins, got the texts, got the rebate & got the cashback: made a good profit on both deals.
P4u are one of the best mobile phone companies out there; I've just started another 3 contracts with them on even better terms.0 -
The reason I knew they would not honour it was that this particular deal was far too cheap - £1.99 a month after redemption on a 12 month contract with O2.
I find it incomprehensible that not only I but all the other people have suddenly got bad credit because their systems failed - apparently the process of getting order to o2 failed and there was an error at o2 end. So what its not my fault. In fact what is more interesting - as this is a refusal for bad credit failure - does it mean it makes my credit history worse for no reason - because they do monitor how many times you have been rejected.
This was a simple case of phones4u not wanting to honour the orders, persumably because too many people did place the order.
And I agree I have had no problems with phones4u (I already have a phone through them for a relative - this order was to replace the existing phone in August). I myself have a phone for myself (via dialphone initially, only renewed with O2 in June). So I dont see how my credit is bad.0 -
That's not cheap. I'd only go for a totally free deal - and they have them from time to time. I've also had several totally free contracts (and got as many for others now) from their other site.0
