What is the picture like on non HD channels? is there a noticable difference from SCART. I seem to suffer with a lot of interference watching through SCART and am thinking this may be the way to go.0

Thanks just rang and just got the offer - saved £105 from the advertised price - WOW!
The very nice lady I spoke to said there was a limited number of these offers available, so call soon. I just asked outright for the offer, none of this "I was thinking of cancelling" malarkey.
Great thread.0 -
Had the HD installed today and the Sky+ relocated.
+ picture is excellent.
- Lots on the HD channels is non HD.
The sky recordings that were on the sky+ box will not play, I have looked on various forums and it appears that premium channel recordings are tied to the card used when they were recorded. I have the engineer coming out tomorrow to swap the cards around so the recordings will play. (I hope)
Well will see what happens tomorrow.0 -
Tried again tonight and still no joy. The call centre guy said the offer does not exist.0

I called Sky, haggled a deal and got the following::beer:
- Sky for £105 inc fitting
- 3 months subscription @ £30 with the money being credited to my account once a month over 3 months. £15, £17 & £17
I told them I wanted to downsize the package but I really wanted HD at some point.
Give this a try.:money:
PS - Sky are putting their prices up by £2 in September.
Good luck0 -
Today I was told that it is an offer for areas that are going digital first. Still no joy and I got a bit rude with the guy in town for trying to fob me off by saying £210 was the cheapest deal they have ever had.0

Just gave it one last try and went to the downgrade department to cancel my movies. I am now having HD installed next week for £105 with an extra £10 a month. Apparently it's a promotion from that department only which is why no one else would give it to me. There was no way round the increased subsciption though.0

Had the sky engineer out today, I still cannot view the recordings made on the sky+ box prior to it's relocation, he refused to swap over and re-pair the cards.
Angry.
I will ask Sky to take away the HD and refund my money.
Anyone else with the same problem?0 -
I finally managed to get this deal yesterday. Used the 01506 421825 option 1,4,5,3 and then 5 cancellation (previous posts said option 4 for the last option but I got through to tech support with that option).
The lady confirmed that this offer is not available to all depts and its definitely not available from sales so if they put you through to them - forget it. It should have expired on 18 July but she still put it through.
I have to pay £10 per month for HD subscriptions and I have to keep one premium channel for 12 months otherwise they will charge me full whack for the HD box and installation.
I've been trying to get this deal for the last 3 days. One bloke on the 01506 number a couple of days ago said that the deal is available online only so like an idiot I hung up and then found its nowhere to be seen online at this price.
I've had quite a few challenging conversations with the overseas call centre. One chap told me this price is only available to new customers. I said I've been a customer for 11 years so where's my special deal. I also said its available in shopping centres and then he suggested that if that's the case then why don't I buy it through them. He also kept me hanging while he checked if the deal was online.
My top tip is to keep trying the 01506 number and use the options quoted above until you get to the right dept which should be cancellations/downgrades. If you don't get the deal hang up and redial and keep trying. The first person you speak to may seem like they know the deal but if they can't do the deal for you and try to put you through to the "correct department" you know that they are just saying enough to get you off the line and are going to put you through to sales and as stated earlier this deal isn't available through sales so you are wasting your time.
Best of luck everyone.The Cabbage

I'm so glad you posted this. I have just had HD fitted, and he's done the same, just swapped the boxes over, not the cards. Plus, they were meant to do a second multiroom in the kitchen, which he said wasn't on his job to do so he ponit blank refused to do it, and he also broke my overflow pipes putting up the cable, and sheared the face off a brick drilling a hole for the second cable. What an absolute shower they are. :mad:0
