Hi,
tried to do this yesterday but all I got offered was £150 for box and £60 installation. I currently have a sky+ box with sports, do you need to have a multiroom package to qualify for this offer?
Hi Lango
Just have to try again until you get the right person on the other end of the phone - it is a bit of a lottery - but all I have is Sports and I just asked outright, i've seen on digitalspy website that some people rang them 2 or 3 times before they got the right answer. The scottish call centre seem to be the most helpful looking at peoples posts on digitalspy etc.
Use the landline number posted earlier - should have some joy there!
Good luck
call 01506421884
ask to go through to downgrade dept
ask for the promotion straight away - say you have seen it online0 -
i just called them and was offered SKY HD+ total of £75+30 with a culture mix package(our choice) for only £17 per month -no extra cost for HD.
I am still thinking
Are you sure you got this for no monthly charge for HD? for ever ?, i was under the impression Sky would give you virtually anything (free boxes ,free installs etc)but the subscriptions couldn't be changed.
I would like HD but am not paying £10 per month for it.

when they come and fit the HD box do they let you keep the old sky+ box? and also do you have to sign up for the HD subscription. I was planning to buy an HD box but just using it as a sky + box for a while until I think its worth upgrading the £10 a month.0

i asked twice -any extra monthly cost for HD-they said no!0 -
Just called 01506421884 and asked for downgrades, explained that 'a friend' had just got the £75 + £30 install offer, offer was confirmed immediately, asked if my sky+ box could be moved to my multiroom position and this was OK'd too. Then their computer would not accept the order!!!
"We will 'phone you back" I sat waiting for over an hour then decided to 'phone them again.
I was eventually told that the offer will go out to all existing multiroom customers eventually but was not on my account yet.
I asked for the sales advisor to speak to a supervisor and put this offer through today. A "senior supervisor" came on the 'phone and said he would speak to the downgrade dept. I originally spoke to, he confirmed I could have the offer and transferred me back to the Scottish call centre.
They could not initially get the offer to go through but the very helpful lady spoke to a tech guy and it was sorted out, all gone through and being installed in a weeks time.
So sky HD in the main room, sky+ transferred to the multiroom position for £105 and the £10/month HD subscription.

2.5 years ago we paid £300 for a Sky HD box. We paid £10. per month for HD for 12 months and decided the quality of the difference and the small amount of channels on HD just werent worth paying £120 per year for.
So decided to cancel. I really felt as if i had been conned. Specially as now Skyp plus is free. I still have my sky HD box and just receiving SKy plus. but
again feel as if i had been conned into buying it for £300.
Last week our we started to receive no signal and we thought it was the arial but couldnt have been as the multi room set was okay, turned out our box was knkrd, sky charged us £65 for a service visit. Luckily the guy just put in a reconditioned box in with the charge, otherwise i would have had to have a whole new installation.
Gotta say though sky plus is brilliant, i love the pause, make a coffe and take up where i left off, series record and the ease of recording is brilliant.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You paid £65 for the box as that is what sky charge they just call it a service fee.
Next time go straight to the cancel dept and you will get this £65 fee knocked off.0 -

why are you moaning that you have been conned for paying £300 2.5 years ago, as 2.5 years ago this would have been new technology, so of course it is going to be more expensive, it was ur choice to pay the £300, sky did not hold a gun to your head, u could have waited like other people have to A) get it cheaper, get a better service as there now more channels popping up all the time, it would be like purchasing a brand new car, and three years down the line, when you could purchase the same car £3000 cheaper you going to the dealership and asking for a refund of the difference, some people:rolleyes:

I rang up and spoke to a Scottish gent and all he would offer me was £15 off for 3 months. So was paying £51 with Sky, got rid of Sports and Movies, and now seeing what Virgin can offer me. Can't understand why Sky are willing to lose long term customers so easily....0

I just rang them and they offered free phone calls only. The guy said try for a different offer next week. I've had Sky for 10 years but it looks like we are off to Virgin next week. Half price broadband and tv for 3 months with them.0
