Why is there such animosity between certain boards on here?

I do think of it as having a big debt, a mortgage is a huge debt... I post on both boards but Renting/buying is my home board... there has been a spate of numpties wanting to take on £200k debts on lie-to-buy or whatever and I think people are trying to be helpful by telling them they are numpties....

Maybe the reason people get a less emotional response in the other boards is because questions are more black and white, less emotionally charged....

What annoys me is the people who come onto a thread full of DFW huggyness and say "what's this got to do with being in debt, how is this helpful to anyone" (as happenned last night when a much loved DFW person returned)

That's just being argumentative for the sake of it.... and pointless. If you don't like the content and the tone of a thread then don't read on and certainly don't post!

I noticed BB, i originally came on the boards to look at the best way to overpay my mortgage and was interested in the replies on thread started by DD. I felt that there are some who do take the Michael where the mortgages are concerned, and it does lead to a backlash!
But i find that there is some good advice to be had on all boards, just looking at budget basics and being realistic about stuff does help as well! The advice in that respect is very similar.
Some of the posts are very aggressive though and i find it easier to avoid rather than look, which then means we all miss out on good advice.

Yes, but there are ways and means of doing that. If for example, someone started screaming abuse at you, would you start thinking "My. How deep and profound are these person's thoughts. I must do as they say immediately." ?

Or would the word "!!!!!!." enter your sub-conscious?

But there are some times it's more helpful to hear the blunt 'hard' world opinions - there have been some real car crash cases recently - who quite frankly need beating with a large haddock as they really are hell bent on commiting fraud and financial disaster...... I've not noticed much screaming abuse though just pretty frank - the abuse gets saved for the dodgy LLs...

I like to simplify it : those that come on here to post unpleasantness get fewer birthday presents than Robert Mugabe.

If DFW's are huggies, then at the opposite end of the spectrum there are "billy no mates".....
