    Experian ;)

I note it says here that Monument only search Callcredit when applying. Whereas I am sure this is right, can anyone confirm that from their own experience?

Yes I am a Monument customer and at the time of my application they only searched Call Credit.

I had specifically come here to report that Argos search Experian.

Is the Argos card not run by barclaycard and therefore more likely to search equifax. Also, from what I hear (and personal experience) barclaycard are none too forgiving for past issues so if you have had trouble maintaining one card run by them you are less likely to be given another one. Anyone know how true any of that is?

I recently took out a bank of scotland credit card and they searched experian, they didn't search equifax but not sure about call credit as I don't bother with them.

In my experience this is not the case. I used to have a Barclaycard Initial and ran the account appallingly for years (over limits, missed/bounced payments, constantly up to my meager limit) back in my naughty days. When they reduced my limit to £260 I decided to get rid. I also claimed back over £500 of charges from them.

A year and a half later after a significant clean up and impeccable handling of my other accounts I was accepted for a Platinum card with £3.1k limit.

So it seems if you clean your act up they'll consider you again.

    Regards
