Dug up a set of my non container planted seed potatoes today. From 2 seeds potatoes (I think) I got 3lbs 2oz, these are the same pink smile potatoes from homebase.
I was gobsmacked at the difference between my container and non container grown ones, the ground ones were much bigger and a better yield.
I have left a few more plants till next week so will post again when I dig them up.
I will definetly be doing potatoes for xmas and next year its great fun.

At last!!!!!
Well done, I grew cara last year and they were lovely!
I've done a few varieties this year. Maincrops (Desiree) are still in the ground but these are some of my Swift & the DT browns freebie, vales emerald. .. I did Charlotte too, they taste gorgeous (best I've tasted so far, best crop too and they seem to be storing well even though they're an early salad!) I will defo do them again next year ......didn't weigh any of them them though

Just dug up my container grown Maris Piper ( again from poundland.) They've done better than the earlies, (probably because I actually remembered to feed and water them.)
3 seed potatoes ( I think) gave me just over4 lbs which I was quite pleased with. I'm leaving the others a bit longer, as Im not sure how well they store. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Try your local garden centre, or the back of the veg stand on your local market.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles
