Remoska cookers (merged)

Morning guys,
i did 4 sausages, 2 frozen quarter pounders and 4 rashers of bacon in the remoska last night, took a little longer than i expected (45 mins)but lovely.
I couldn`t fit the eggs in so we didn`t have them:D i was hoping to put them in a cake tin for a few mins near the lid but the tin that i had wouldn`t fit i need to go hunting around the shops later.
This morning i have cooked a chicken which is absolutely stunning!
It was just over 1.5 kg and i had it in for an hour and fifteen mins with the remmy on and then left it for half an hour with it off. I started it standing on the breast and turned it the other way up after about 40 mins.
It cost around 7p to cook as i did most of it on the night rate electricity :j
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

I want it to play with this weekend!!!
As I ordered mine on Monday, looks like I should stop hoping it will arive today then. That's solves the should I go to Asda now or not dilemma...
I would say the grand competed very well with the eco kettle whatatwit:D .I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I have just put in a frozen quiche in its own foil dish. It states 40 mins but I have put on the rack nearer to the lid, so hoping it wont take as long. I may put a couple of burgers in the bottom too and see how they turn out....it seems a waste to put nothing in the bottom.

Hi mambury, hope you got the paint out ok!
Hi LouiseJ, I'm watching this space to see how your 'chip experiment' goes, I never really eat chips but I ordered some frozen oven chips online this week so they should work. It would be nice to do them from fresh though.
Hi Sunnyday, you were up early! I can't believe you cooked a whole chicken before 8am! Glad it worked out well and cheap too on the economy 7. I daren't use a timer as it is so hot I like to be around to supervise it until I am fully used to it.
Hi Brighton Belle, I ordered my grand on Monday and when I rang yesterday the lady said it was just sent out. It didn't come today so it MUST come tomorrow, surely.
I got some mozzarella today hoping to make a pizza in the grand (when it comes) bit sad today as I don't need to cook anything as we have stuff left over...might have to make some muffins....
Has anyone done pasta in it yet? I was reading the book and there's a recipe for fresh pasta, you don't cook in boiling water, you just put it in the pan with sauce and extra water. I got some fresh mushroom tortollini on offer and wondered if it would work?

Funilly enough I am thinking of having pasta. I usually just put 2 or 3 tins of tomatoes in the blender (my kids dont like lumps!), add enough water to cover the pasta, add a few herbs, cook for about 1/2 an hour then cover with cheese and cook for another 20 minutes or so until the cheese has melted. Am going to try this in the Remoska to see what happens...0

I ordered mine on Sunday and rang earlier to see if it had been despatched. Lady said it was sent out two days ago so it's on its way. I am now waiting 'patiently' for the doorbell hubby has gone out with dd, I was supposed to go too but have to stay in just in case  I HATE waiting for things - Make 2023 in 2023 # £00/2023

I like Aunt Bessie's crinkle cut chips (bought when they were on offer in Iceland) - they cook really well in the big Remoska, though they do take a little longer than they would in an oven. I just bung them in, no rack or anything, but I only cook a fairly sparse layer so I think that helps to prevent sogginess. Also (and I think I read this on the Remoska website) I take the cover off a couple of times to let the steam out.0
