    Hi Lesley,

my experience was so different - thought this link might help as it still seems to bring up the lakeland summer 08 catalogue - http://www.lakeland.co.uk/browsebycatalogue?c=08_ootk and as you can see it quite clearly shows the lower price (pages 48 and 49) and on the front says valid until 31st August 2008.

^^^^^^Here is the link to the summer catalogue which was posted by Perrywinkle. I viewed it on screen as I rang Lakeland and then I could give them the details they asked for like page number/item number. I was also asked what the picture on the front cover was:rolleyes: Remoska is on page 49 if I remember correctly.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Haven't got my old catalogue but both standard and grand have gone up by £10 and as standard is showing as £89.99 online I assume it was £79.99. If you just ring Lakeland and tell them you are ordering from the summer catalogue they should just tell you the old price without you having to ask. I also tend to re-cycle things too quickly and had got rid of my old catalogue before I ordered mine but as soon as I said I was ordering from the "Out of the Kitchen" catalogue they honoured the old price!

Thank you so much, I just ordered one with the code from that catalogue but they said was 89.99, I said I thought was 79.99 and they honoured it :D YAY. I love MSE cos because I didnt had my old catalogue would have had to pay so much more :(
Will hopefully use it lots and lots and lots. ?can it be used on a timer to make dinner? (planning on a spanish chicken type thing next week with chicken thighs, potatoes onions and sherry-usually do in the oven would it work for this sort of thing?)

Apologise now, can see myself asking LOTS and LOTS of questions soon :D
  • Lots of mushrooms in the veg box this week so I'm trying the mushrookm goulash recipe from the remoska book. Smells lovely.

I've read through all the thread and one minute I decide to order a Ramoska, the next I think it will be stuck in the cupboard along with the George Foreman and sandwich toaster. I'm a Libra and take indecisiveness to the max!

One question I wanted to ask - I'm under 5ft tall and struggle to see the glass top of the chip fryer when being used. Will I also need a box to check on the clear glass lid of the Ramoska?

    Thanks for replies.

Please can anybody tell me if they have found a nice cake tin that fits inside the standard ? Where ?

Hi Mardatha, I put some of the magic liner for cake tins in and pour my mixture straight into the tin, I've made loads of cakes this way and they have come out lovely, if its a sponge, don't take it out too soon or it will sink! For the grand I think it would need a cake tin.

Hi Razra, Don't worry about splashing out on the remoska, it should pay for itself in saved energy costs over time. I kept talking myself out of it for years because of the price and it was only the energy price rises that pushed me to buy one, now I know how good it is I would have bought one sooner. I'm sure you will enjoy it too when it arrives.

Mardatha I know this is not going to be much good to you, but my DH has just returned from his late parents' house with half a dozen cake tins from MIL, all the right size for the standard Remoska.... nothing fancy non-stick or silicone of course, but perfect in size - fluted ones, turban style, removable bottom....
Maybe car boot sales etc. may be the places to look out for them?

Glad you got it at the cheaper price. I have used mine with a timer, and it worked fine. The first time I used it, I was cautious and used it whilst I was in the kitchen but since then have set the timer and come in to a lovely hot meal.

Mardatha, this is EXTREMELY unusual for Lakeland. Usually their customer service is second to none. I think you should complain to them directly and tell them that is has put you off ever buying from them again. They may even offer you something to keep your custom.
I know this post is from ages ago, but my mum ordered from lakeland a while ago to rep of ire and they messed about a bit (Not lakeland obviosuly but couriers)
they were ever so lovely when she contacted them, no deliv fee, and gave her free stuff.
so YAY to cust services:T. (sorry if didnt turn out this was for OP-didnt have time to read thread)
