  • I am soooo excited, finally, after several months of dithering, I have ordered my grande remoska:j :j . Thanks so much to everyone on this thread: I've been lurking for a while but now I feel I can come out of the closet:D . Can't wait for it to arrive now.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Yesterday I cooked toad in the hole in my Remoska - really good and enough for four. Except that SOMEONE (friend's OH, I was feeding him while she is away) ate almost 3/4 of it! So there was only a little left over for my lunch today. So I would say that a regular can cook a meal for 4 unless you invite a certain person!

    Hi shopndrop

I did them for just 20 minutes and they were perfect... I have spent all day trying to think of what to cook next!
  • I've just gone through the recipes on the 'Hooray for home cooking' website and printed off the ones that aren't in the cookbook. I thought I'd compile a book of recipes for when I'm back at work and can't think of anything to cook!

I can't wait for my grand to come now, I nearly bought a big leg of lamb in Sainsburys that was on special offer and I put it back because I didn't think it would fit in the standard, I reckon it would have fit in the grand though so it will be useful for big joints at weekends and when we have more people round. I will still use my standard through the week though for the 4 of us.

OH is thinking of a BBQ today but if it rains I have some salmon steaks that I might do in it, I cooked a ratatouille yesterday so might have that with bulgar wheat cooked at the side, not decided yet.

I nearly couldn't get my tight(er) jeans on this morning! I have never in my life eaten so much cake! I'll have to watch it, what with exam/birthday celebrations and family coming round (any excuse to make a cake really...) I seem to have eaten cake every day. I never really did much baking before I got my remoska! I've dug out some of the veg patch today and emptied the compost heap so hopefully burnt off some calories! (ready for the next batch of muffins lol!)

I wonder how many people have gone out and bought a remoska after reading this thread? Its been read about 30,000 times already (although 29,000 of those were me!) I reckon we should get comission from Lakeland!

Hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday :)

I cooked a large chicken in the grand at the weekend and it was fine. Not much room for anything else though. Have just tried and I could fit 8 med/large potatoes in mine, so if they were all medium you could probably get 9 in.

Thank you for trying the potatoes, think I'll take the plunge and get one, I need to save fuel, I use my oven much more over winter so now is the time to buy.

    Thanks Again

  • Ooooh, I'm so excited:j.
I was beginning to feel that you "remoska" people should have your own board, 'cause I couldn't stop reading this thread and felt it was just a torment to us poor dfws who get sent to this board to learn new ways to save money on our food and energy bills. (I got sent here for a look and liked what I saw so much that I have moved in permanently:A.)

Anyway, there's no way that I could afford one, so today, I thought I would ask on freecycle, after all, " if you don't ask you won't get". I really did not expect to be offered one...., but I have received an offer. I don't know what size it is, but the lady says she has the recipe book and everything.

It looks like I could soon be joining all you wonderful people, if you'll let me, and reading these recipes with real interest instead of just a jealous pang.
