oh no!!! my standard remoska has given up the ghost after 14 months. It is blowing the fuse and on both of them (grande as well) the non stick is coming off around the edges. So would I recommend now? no definitely not although I have been singing its praises for the last 14 months. At about £100 it should be lasting a lot longer. I did see the IW one and it is identical to the remoska, except for its shape and is less than half the price

The non stick coming off is worrying because it will obviously be in the food
  • Get in contact with Lakeland and they will send a new one out to you. They did this for me last year and just had to throw the broken one. They have a life guarantee.

The non stick coming off around the edges of the lid is normal enough, natural wear and tear. In my case the non stick was peeling off in large blisters around 1 to 2 inches wide from around the glass panel. They sent me a new one and collected the old one to do tests on. I was really pleased with the service they provided! Mine have never blown the electrics though - I have the standard and the grande and have used them at home and in the caravan with no electric problems.

That is more than a bit worrying that both should be tripping the electrics. Suggests there is a design failure. The non-stick started coming off on mine early on when we were all buying them and I rang Lakeland and they replaced my standard. At the price they are they should definitely be lasting longer than this.

I also noticed that the website "hoorayforhomecooking" has been unavailable for a while although I have just had a look and it is back on. They say they have had technical difficulties.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on mine and will let you know if mine starts tripping the electrics. Are you going to contact Lakeland?

it isn`t good that non stick is coming off

yes I have contacted lakeland and they said to put the lid into the airing cupboard, which I have done. Apparantly the tripping is caused by moisture

so what is cooking about, except use of moisture. This is really not good enough lakeland

I have used the remoska a lot and only ever dry wipe the lid as it can`t be cleaned properly either. Brilliant concept but huge design faults imo. I now have a tripping, peeling, dirty-looking remoska, which is only 14 months old. Yes lakeland say they will take it back but being an honest person I will try the airing cupboard as asked. However I will no longer trust my standard remoska

    Realy?QVC selling Remoska:eek:
I already have a Remoska Grand...that i now love(had my reservations initialy,I had also mentioned the Ideal world one on a post on the previous page-apparantly it was called a bakemoska at one point!!,and to be honest i still sometimes wonder if i should have bought the ideal world one instead,Lakelands customer service policy swung it for me tho.)

So is it a proper Remoska that QVC will be selling??,I thought only Lakeland could sell these in the UK?.wonder what price QVC will sell them for? because much as i love it,i do think its overpriced from Lakeland.

    Really?? A Remoska TSV ??
I am seriously considering investing in a Grande, and was thinking of asking Santa for one. A TSV might tempt me if the price were right.

It is called a czech cooker

    http://blogs.qvcuk.com/kathy_tayler/2009/07/the-olleys-give-this-czech-cooker-top-marks.html

imo £100 is way overpriced. I would really expect stainless steel for that and not thin teflon over aluminium. I love my remoskas and I love lakeland but bring on the competition

I heard that lakeland bought the remoska factory but imo it is such an old design that surely any decent manufacturer could make similar but with a different name
