Thanks Sarjsmith. Maybe some other companies might start selling them now as i think the price of them is too high on Lakeland for what they are. I am another one who havnt used their main oven since i got it.My husband took mine to bits cause i managed to get water in the lid.Theres the tiniest wire inside the lid.I expected a huge element but its not huge. The wire goes all round the outer bit of the lid.0

I have looked all over the place to find a cheaper source of Remoska's - some of my friends in France want to buy them now, and Lakeland's overseas shipping charges add another £25 if you want them sent over. I even found a website in the Czech Republic, but the Standard there was also charged at around 100 Euros. Sarjsmith has found the best source so far! But still not too great a deal if you factor in transport and currency costs.... it remains a mystery why they should be so expensive."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
I have a question for those of you who had problems with a rattling Remoska lid. When you got a replacement from Lakeland, did you notice if the new one seemed to cook food quicker?
I really wanted to love my Grande Remoska, but it has a rattling lid and takes ages to cook anything. I have had it nearly a year now so I am torn between asking Lakeland for a refund or a replacement. I haven`t used mine for months but I think I will have a browse through this thread to check out the cooking times on the meals you good folk are cooking in yours. I think my halogen oven is better for work nights but perhaps I have room in my kitchen (and my heart lol) to use a mosky on days off. For those who have both grande and standard - does the difference in power make much difference to cooking times?
Thanks,
Slinky0 -
What would be really handy is an extension ring to increase the height of the ramoska, they have them for halogen ovens ideal for cooking chickens etc.
Slinky-Malinky I'd definately get a replacment it shouldn;t be like that they cost too much to be faulty0 -
Have had a yummy curry, a great roast chicken, super ratatouille, garlic bread, soft fluffy rice and I'm off now to try a malteser brownie (courtesy of another thread here, somewhere):j0

Well, the spherical honeycombed brownie was ok but not worth the (surely) extra hundreds of calories:rolleyes:0

I am thinking about getting a Remoska.
I can see you can cook the usual one pot stuff etc but do you guys use it for cakes/biscuits other than say a traybake???I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Bitsy i use my remoska for more cakes than i ever made in my oven.
I use one and a half times the amount of mixture as the tin is bigger than a normal cake tin and i line the bottom. The cake is lovely and moist but you will need to whack some foil on top part way through cooking to stop the edges browning.

HI Peeps!
I just wanted to say that I have been following your thread on and off for ages now. I must have been telling my hubby quite how good Remoska's are more than I thought....as he bought me one for our 2nd Anniversary!! :j I know most peeps our age wouldn;t even think of buying an electrical product for an anniversary present but (thankfully) my hubby knows me!!:D I was so thrilled I screamed!
lol. anyway!
I wanted to join the thread so I get alerted to new posts and thank peeps for all their idea's so far. I did Garlic bread yesterday in it. hubby did croissants this morning whilst I was still in bed!
I made Potato wedges in a spicy homemade rub/sprinkle this evening and then fried some onions in the tiny bit of oil left in the pan and then threw in some chopped onions untill slightly soft and threw on some Ainsl£y Harri0tt stuffing mix (i got from Appr0ved F00ds) over the top for tea tomorrow and baked that as we are having a little roast pork joint I got from Mr T's for£2 a while ago. so already I have used the Remoska loads in the last 2 days (more for smaller things) without having to put the oven on. I love it!!!:D:T:T:T
I would just love some more recipe idea's. is there a link on MSE to Remoska recipes peeps have posted??
Thanks again. Keep up the good money saving (and electricity!!!););)

Hi Foxy,
congratulations on your new remoska
There are many recipes posted on this remoska thread and the old one too but i think that you can cook/adapt just about any recipe that can be cooked on the hob or in the oven for the remoska.
Have fun with your new toy
