I bought the standard size one just before Christmas, is it worth buying the cookery book for it .I have a birthday coming up soon, so I may put that down on my 'wish list'0

Agree that it is bulky - probably too bulky to go in a case but it could possibly be "carry on" luggage. It weights approx 8lb in the box it comes in. Hope this helps.0

My Grande Remoska arrived from Lakeland a short while ago. I have just set it up, it looks pretty good! (I shook the lid to check for 'rattle' after reading in some posts that this can be a problem with the Grande Remoska, but not rattle, thank goodness)
I bought a fresh chicken in preparation for using it for the first time.
It is a 1.6 kg chicken - can any of you wonderful Ladies help me out by telling me how long I need to cook it for? I am a total beginner
Here's hoping for someone to tell me how long to cook my chicken for
Gosh, doesn't yours look all new and shiny! Shame they don't stay looking like that for long; they're a !!!!!! to keep clean, aren't they?0 -

Another thumbs down for the cookbook here - I've never used mine.
Gave my mum a standard Remoska for Christmas and she's delighted with it, so far. (fingers crossed - she can be difficult to please).Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -

I've found the exact opposite to be honest! I have used it every day since I bought it and have found that it also reduces my washing up drastically and it is SO EASY to clean! When I have removed whatever I am cooking in it, I fill it 2/3rds full with hot water and washing up liquid and leave it to soak whilst we eat dinner. It simply rinses away everything when I do that, no hard scrubbing (which you can't do anyway as it is non-stick) and as it is non-stick, nothing sticks! One pan to wash up (the Remoska pan) rather than 3 on the top of the cooker!
I made a great meal yesterday, using left-over turkey. I put chopped potatoes (full size, what you do for roasties) sprouts, sliced parsnips and chunks of carrot in - dash of extra-virgin olive oil, freshly ground sea-salt and black pepper and lidded and switched on! 1 1/2 hours later it was gorgeous - I filled the Grande Remoska pan and we ate it all (2 of us) it was delicious, healthy and so filling...perfect with the cold slices of turkey and hot gravy I served it with.
There are only 2 of us, yet I bought the Grande - we have big appetites and also I felt that was better value as you can do more with it.
Best thing I have ever bought!
And the cleaning up afterwards is mimimal...try soaking your Remoska pan in hot water and washing up liquid before you wash it~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -

Your vegetable recipe sounds lovely! I think what oldernotwiser meant is that it can be difficult keeping the top of the remoska lid all bright and shiny. I think we all agree the cooking pan itself is nice and easy to keep clean! I am just going off now to chop up some vegetables so I can try out your recipe tonight with leftover gammon!

I know what you mean now! Yeah! I have *issues* with stainless steel items being shiny and clean (being a clean freak!) and I have the perfect solution! Just before I switch off my Remoska, whilst it is still piping hot on the lid, I rinse out a damp cloth, squeeze it dry almost, and then wipe over the top of the lid - no smears (smears do my head in!) and it still looks fab after a full week of use. I learnt this trick from my toaster with is stainless steel and it works on the Remoska lid too...nothing worse than grubby looking stainless steel which does smear badly and look awful if not dealt with every time you use it.
Enjoy your roasted veg - I was astounded how gorgeous it was, looked amazing too...and so good for you. I plan on just throwing my veg in the Remoska all the time now - no more *3 pans* on the cooker any more and all that water and washing up, yuk! :T~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -
Re: my last post
A picture of the roasted vegetables - laced with extra-virgin olive oil and forgot to say that I threw in some chopped fresh garlic and fresh rosemary too.~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0 -
EMBER, those sprouts look much nicer cooked that way than the usual way, I will try this. Thanks for posting the pic, because I'm a hopeless cook and when people say chopped potatoes or sliced potatoes, I think yes but chopped/sliced to WHAT SIZE ? lol
I just wipe the lid clean too, and to me that's probly the best thing about the remoska, that it saves on all those pots & pans.
Is olive oil much nicer than cooking oil ? I've never tried it.0
