I want 1 too, but how many times would I have to use it it get my money back, ie in gas saved in heating my oven?

    Thanks

Ps I am sure someone has workrd it all out

If you go onto www.hoorayforhomecooking.co.uk/Remoska%20Message%20Board.htm there is an message from someone claiming that their electricity bill fell by £400 a year by using a Remoska. No idea whether that is a normal saving, but have a look at the article.

It cost 6p to cook a sausage casserole 4p for a cake. The remoska is about 500 watts ie it can stay on for 2 hours to use 1 kwh. Ebico price is 12.72 pence for 1 kwh. My electric oven is 4kwh ie 1 hour on full will cost about 50pence  . I used to bake sourdough bread at 250 degrees so that is pretty well full on and it needed thorough heating up first

I regard my remoska as a very good investment and haven`t used the oven since I bought it :D

I'm going into town on Saturday to get my Remoska! I can't wait! I already got some of its additions as presents for my birthday which included the recipe book which I'm having tough decisions on what to make my first meal in it. (My boyfriend is going for roast chicken which i think is a little adventurous!) If Lakeland don't have one in stock i'm going to be sooooo upset! Oh i can't wait! :)

    Kittie,

Do your costings take any account of the fact that an electric oven will cycle on and off (see the little red light that goes on and off according to temperature) once it has reached the required setting?

I am not saying that the Remoska is not cheaper to run, and I would like one for certain situations, but like crockpot I wonder just how many times I would have to use it to even get my money back, let alone start saving, and will it actually last that long?

How long has anyone had one for?

Has anyone tried making the "Artisan Bread" in the Remoska? We are loving having fresh bread every day - but hate to think of the cost of heating an oven to do this over a year.

If the answer is "Yes - and its as good as it is in the oven" then I for one will be popping over to Lakeland to order one up.

I am getting ready to bake chelsea buns. The dough has another hour to go in the bm and then I will bake them in the remoska. First time for me but the ciabatta was wonderful and I am sure these buns will be superb as well. My dh will be coming home to the wonderful smell of baking yet again and will think I have been slaving all afternoon. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I would like 1, but would I use it?

I have a bread maker and a slow cooker, both of which I use a few times a week, more in winter, less in summer.

i am into baking at mo, we love cake, can I make cake?

lol crockpot. I have a bm, a slow cooker, a pressure cooker and a remoska and I use the remoska most because the results, for the price of energy, are oustanding. Everything has turned out well and that includes the lovely chelsea buns I made last night

ps it cooks cakes beautifullyand they are always moist. The mix can go straight into the pan but I like to use a 7" caketin in the pan
