I brought my Remoska yesterday and cooked in it last night and it was fab! I did originally buy the standard but went and exchanged it for the Grande even though there are inly 2 of us as this way i can cook a roast in it. We had the aubergine and feta bake from the cookbook last night which was amazing :)

crockpot - my boyf said the same thing about the £20 and so far i'm very glad that we got the Grande.

Enough waffle better go do something productive.....

    Hi Guys,

I have been tempted by the Remoska for years but the price has always put me off buying one.

My MR Slow cooker has got a hairline crack in the pot so needs replacing.
Now I use this at least once a week to do pot roasts in and use it more in the winter for casseroles and making stock.

Now I know a Remoska can do roasts (crispy too, is that right?), can it do roast potatoes around the joint? What about Yorkshire Puds?

Can I use it for casseroles? Does it slow cook or would it be a quick cook?

Sorry for all the questions but if it does all that my Slow cooker does plus more then perhaps instead of buying a new SC for £35 I should buy a Remoska, or would I need both?

Can I cook shepherds pie, lasagne, etc in it?

Would appreciate your thoughts and comments please.

    Many thanks. :)

I love, love, love my Remoska! I am a bit of a gadget freak :rotfl: But this is one thing that I use nearly all the time. I did have a slow cooker but much prefer the Remoska. Oven chips are a great treat done in it as is one pot chicken things (we had one today - chicken pieces + sliced potatoes and various vegetables done with a splash of wine and some pesto).

    Easy to clean (big bonus)!!

Haven't tried risotto yet - will do this week after all the good comments on here.

    Hi Mardatha

Magic Liner is a non stick sheet which is reusable and can be cut to size. I bought mine from Lakeland. Again it's not cheap £4.50 for a sheet I think 10ins x 20ins, but I cut a circle for the Remoska and also lined a loaf tin and a baking sheet. It washes easily and just slips back in the tins. Non-stick flapjacks - wonderful! Has saved me buying new tins actually.

Could anyone give me some idea how long a chicken and potatoes would take to roast in a Remoska please?
I know it varies on weight but approximately?
    Thanks.

Mardatha, this is EXTREMELY unusual for Lakeland. Usually their customer service is second to none. I think you should complain to them directly and tell them that is has put you off ever buying from them again. They may even offer you something to keep your custom.
