Remoska cookers (merged)

I was just having a look on fleabay to see if there were any cookery books. There are two people selling standard remoska's at £70 & £75. Granted one of them is including a cookery book. However when you factor in the postage. It ends up costing you more than if you bought it brand new from Lakeland (free delivery & guarantee). I'm sure someone will snap them up thinking they've got a bargain as well. :eek:0

I would not say I love the Remoska but it make a huge lot of sense for me. As a single person, i can make a really good meal in one pan at a fraction of rthe cost that I would pay to run an oven.
Big stews, with potatoes on the rack above. Roast vegs with the meat cooked on the rack, or my favourite celeriac and potato gratin with meat on the rack above. Toad in the hole and baked tats etc.
Have not tried puds and cakes yet but with the soft fruit season in the flow that might happen yet.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I am saving up for a rack and a small pan - I shall have to look on ebay I guess.0

I absolutely love the remoska. Food always turns out and is very tasty and moist. It cooked the coconut cake from weezl`s thread in 45 minutes and it was scrumptious, then later on it cooked roast veggies. I have the rack and small insert pan, looks like a half curve. I cooked a chicken curry in the pan and small baked potatoes in the side. I haven`t used the rack much0

Hi, just to clarify - is there any advantage to a Remoska over a slow cooker? I absolutely HATE my oven, as it's so unreliable for cooking stuff - a fraction too low and you get barely warmed, a fraction of a cm higher and everything burns. I use my slow cooker a lot, but in summer the family are turning their noses up at casseroles all the time, and I'm not confident enough to cook a roast in it! I cook most things on the electric oven's hob, will it benefit us to se one of these instead electric-consumptionwise?This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!
Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:0 -
Just got my Remoska, and have made a few things in it, but I have a question. Are you supposed to warm it up before putting anything in itYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0

charlies-mum, I've had my Remoska about 6 weeks now and I'm reallyenjoying using it.I've got the new cook book, and in there it says do not heat the empty pan first,as it could damage the teflon lining.Hope this helps.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. I want 1 too, but how many times would I have to use it it get my money back, ie in gas saved in heating my oven?
Thanks
Ps I am sure someone has workrd it all out0 -
i'M WAITING ON MINE , SHOULD BE HERE TOMORROW oops screaming, got all excited there
I want to try a toasted ham & cheese sandwich in it first, because we havent had a grill for ages. The big new expensive cooker that I hate has a grill that would toast half a cow and I'm scared of it.
