Still no remoska. Thats 8 days and counting...phoned them and they said the courier lost the paperwork but he's found it again...
I wont buy from Lakeland again.
sorry it's not arrived yet...when it does, write to Lakeland and mention how excited you were when it was ordered...buying stuff in ready to use it.
I'm sure if you say how disappointed you were, having to wait so long, you may get a voucher or something.
I always thought Lakeland were pretty good at sending stuff out.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
I do not have a good time with couriers. I live out in the sticks and they hate delivering to me. I will wait till 11-ish then phone them and email them as well. I just noticed they have a shop in Edinburgh --I could have got it there if I really put my mind to it...drat.0

Clutterfree wrote: »Hi Guys,
I have been tempted by the Remoska for years but the price has always put me off buying one.
My MR Slow cooker has got a hairline crack in the pot so needs replacing.
Now I use this at least once a week to do pot roasts in and use it more in the winter for casseroles and making stock.
Now I know a Remoska can do roasts (crispy too, is that right?), can it do roast potatoes around the joint? What about Yorkshire Puds?
Can I use it for casseroles? Does it slow cook or would it be a quick cook?
Sorry for all the questions but if it does all that my Slow cooker does plus more then perhaps instead of buying a new SC for £35 I should buy a Remoska, or would I need both?
Can I cook shepherds pie, lasagne, etc in it?
Would appreciate your thoughts and comments please.
Many thanks.
Can anyone help, please?Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

it finaly came and I did bacon & sausages in it, then tried some parboiled potatoes. It seems to take a teeny bit longer than the recipe books says but I love it. Sorry CF, not brave enough yet to try shepherds pie ..its a bit bigger than I thought it would be and a shepherds pie in it would do us 2 meals, so cooking and freezing half would seem to be the way to go.But I do like it.0

Mardatha which size did you go for?
Do you make the sheperds pie in the dish or put another in it? raw mince with mash on top?
Sorry to be asking, I want 1 but have to be sure I am going it get use out of it.
I have a gas oven so will I still save money? Guess there is no pre heating to worry about, thats a waste of gas.0 -
I got the standard, OH wanted the bigger one but I'm glad I didnt get it cos it would be far too big. I jsut tried it with some raw mince, browned it, added grated carrots and onions, then some water but not a lot, its cooking now and I think i will just make smash and stick it on top, then let it brown for a wee while.0

I had a silicone 12 hole deep muffin tray which of course didn't fit into my remoska (round peg - square hole problem) but which I loved using. So I carefully cut out all the silicone holes IYSWIM and voila - ended up with 12 individual silicone cake cases. DH was pleased with the silicone offcuts too (
men will remain a deep and abiding mystery to me!).......love my remoska!

I have just spoken to a nice lady at Lakeland, who has suggested I go for the Grand, boys will grow after all!
Also was told that not many are returned and they sell loads.
If I am not happy with it or it finds it`s way to the back of the cupboard, all I need to do is ring them up and they will collect it and refund me.
So have nothing to lose.
Pay day next week, so will order it then.0
