The great thing about Lakeland is it's no questions asked refund guarantee, so you can try out a Remoska to see whether it suits you. Alas it didn't work for me, apart from producing some (2nd) prize winning scones for my local flower show using a Delia recipe, and a fabulous roast chicken, the results were very disappointing. So I would say it's good for some things and is not a kitchen all rounder. Example toad in the hole. using the Remoska recipe was stodgy and the sausages burnt. Using my own tried and tested recipe resulted in burnt pudding around the outside and flat in the middle with burnt sausages. Roast potatoes were another disappointment, despite the claims made in the literature and on the dedicated website.

I use the Remoska about 4 times a week everything I have cooked has come out perfect. I love the way you just put the food in and even when I forget what time I put it on the food, it is never burnt, Fantastic!! Toad in the Hole is my favourite dish, we brown the sausages in the Remoska first and then add the mixture once the sausages are nice and brown.

Been really lazy today. Still catching up on housework/shopping after my hols so bought an M&S meal deal for £10 and had the beef with chianti which I just popped in the Moska whilst putting the shopping away. It was delicious. First time I have done a "ready meal". I also managed to get some Silicone bakeware in Aldi. They had some quite large round bakeware which is a good size for the Grand. It fits nicely in the base and leaves just enough room to be able to lift it out without risking burning yourself.
  • Hi,
I've just got a replacement for my grand because it was heating unevenly. I had noticed a rattle that sounded a bit like loose tin foil in the lid but didn't think much about it at the time. When my new one arrived it didn't 'ratttle' but I've used it for the first time today and after heating up the 'rattle' was back. I only did a pasta bake so can't yet say whether that was the cause of the uneven baking as it turned out great. We'll test drive some buns tomorrow and see how evenly they cook!
I'll let you know how they fare, a remoska is an expensive folly!
(Can I say by the way that the returns service was fantastic. I phoned on Saturday and the replacement was with me by Tuesday).

  • I don't understand the reasons for it but the Remoska has really stimulated my desire to cook! No more ready meals in this house - unless I make them myself of course!

Good one marion:T . I too am finding it stimulated me to try loads more stuff. I just never bothered with the oven, but this seems so much simpler to use for some reason, which doesn't sound logical, but there you go - a woman's perogative:rotfl: . I love maximising use of the available space too.

Annie -c: I have a grande and can't praise it highly enough. Have a read of the reviews on this forum - plenty of positive experiences.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Bought it this evening. Choice of light blue or dark blue and they had a round pan, square pan, 6 cup muffin tray and a 2lb loaf pan. They were £3.49 each. HTH

If I were to get one I'd want a grand so I am waiting on a few more positve reviews before splashing out :)

I got a grand in July and no problems (and i've got a standard too so I know it is).

  • In my remoska today....I made macaroni cheese! Parboiled pasta in a pan and made a cheese sauce then finished it off in the remoska and it was lovely, much better than doing in the oven for some reason, had it with beans. Very nice!

Do most of you cook just straight in the base of the Remoska, or use another pan/tin inside?

I'm still getting to grips with the idea of it (as daft as that may sound)... I've only used it so far to make 4 crumbles:o
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!
  • I cook directly in the pan mostly. Especially like it for one pot/stew type dishes.

Did a very simple one pot tonight with rice, onion, green pepper, garlic, smoked pork sausage. Just had to keep an eye on the liquid as the rice sucks it all up. Was very nice.
