Thank you Mary, my Xmas hanger is made using two strips of paper so they have joins down the centre. They look fine I think, you can actually see the join more on the photos than you really can.

I would like several handmade bits around the house this Xmas. I think I'm going to have a go at a few other bits as the festive season approaches!

My OH said he's seen double sided velcro and maybe that would fix the name plates to the doors? I haven't seen this before.

  • Rainmac-those door plaques are brilliant-your boys will love them. Ive just treated myself to a scroll saw so will have to try and make some. I have a cd with lots of patterns on for scroll saws which will be ideal for door plaques.
    well done

Thanks Dora, I've got a friend who owns a lathe (is that spelt right?) and said she would cut me things but to be homest she is so busy with work and other stuff I've bought my stuff. Good luck with making things with your saw - we would love to see some photos!

I think I'm driving my OH out of home.............was doing pickled bums yesterday and he suddenly decided to go to the pub a bit earlier.................lol

Back to the door hangers............I'm at the ribbon stage with a couple of them. Whats the best way to do this as I'm hopeless at creating a bow......and how many times do you wrap the ribbon round before you tie it ?
(Know it sounds a daft question but every time I try it looks wrong)

They are cute! Might have a stab at it myself if I ever find five minutes!

Here is another Xmas door hanger...

    IMGP2219.jpgIMGP2220.jpg

I used Papermania paper and chipboard shapes and another 49p tree from Hobbycraft.

I then moved my thoughts onto door plaques and made these two for my little monkeys for Xmas...

The blue paper is a bit darker in the flesh than the pic shows. I love these! They are very simple and were really easy to make - just my kind of craft(bought the animal shapes!) ;)

Need to work out what to use to attach the plaques to a door - double sided foam pads? Anyone got any ideas?

    Lovely hangers as always!!!

The boys door plaques are just perfect!!!!! Well done :) Can I ask one thing though? .... Is your Thomas as much as a monkey as my Thomas? ;)
