I have seen some pictures around of your door hangers and I would love some tips on how to make these, where do you get the paper from? what kind of glue do you use?

Hi cookiedough, the paper is simply scrapbooking paper (I've used paper by K&Co but any would be fine), you need something substantial so it won't rip when you cut it. Also I've used 12x12 size paper. One sheet will do 3 'sides' of hanger (so one complete hanger and one side of another). If you haven't got 12x12 paper you could use smaller and add ribbon to cover the paper joins.

The best hangers I've used are from this ebay seller.

How I have made them is to:
Glue the hanger (I have used PVA glue or double sided tape on mine)
Position the hanger glue side down on the back of the sheet of paper
Wait for glue to dry (if using)
Cut around the shape using a craft knife
Then do exactly the same for the other side of the hanger
Hey presto, one door hanger :D

HTH, please let me know if this doesn't make sense (I am known to ramble :rotfl: )

Have made a few more but no pics as they are using the same papers. I really like the Sweet Nothings paper by Papermania so may have to make myself a hanger using this! :D

  • they are just brilliant gifts, thanks for your tips and link to the seller. I particularly like your gift for the Mum's wanting some peace! I can relate to that!

Thank you! I snatch time here, there and everywhere, cleaning gets put on the back burner in order to squeeze in a bit of crafting!:rotfl:

The paper for the boy themed hangers is by K&Co and called Rough and Tumble - bought from http://www.cardcraft-uk.co.uk/index.php?cPath=193_348

The butterfly paper and golf paper was bought from Coleman's Craft Warehouse in Rushden, Northants (know you know this place mary ;) ). The butterfly paper is by K&Co (not sure which range), can't remember who makes the golf one - sorry!

The paper for the ladies bathroom door hangers is again by K&Co Classic K, Margo range. I bought mine from Hobbycraft, about 50p for a 12x12 sheet I think.

Does that help? Hope so :D

Hi Rainmac, I used the same seller for my door hangers, fantastic seller and very fast delivery!

I haven't started making my door hangars but they are to do this week whilst my son is on holiday!

If you don't get the chance I can always 'force' myself to go  and get what you want and post to you but that way you won't have the pleasure of choosing exactly what you want.
