I haven't started making my door hangars but they are to do this week whilst my son is on holiday!
Great minds and all that!
Good luck making them, hope you enjoy it
They are def. the best hangers I've used, stronger and thicker and easier to cut around:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
rainmac - thats very kind of you...........wouldn't like to force you into anything though...................lol plus live with the guilt of you getting carried away and spending more money there..................lol
I'm trying to work it so that when I go down I stay at the b & b for 2 nights and have two days with mum and a day in Rushden........probably take me that long to browse through all those papers after they'd picked me up off the floor...................lolMary

Ok I started my door hangers tonight ... I didn't cut out the holes so I didn't ruin them ... however they look rubbish ... There is a cars one (disney cars - the background of the rocks etc) which is for my son and then a winnie the pooh one for my daughter ...
I glued them etc and stuck the paper on but you can see where the paper is damp from the glue ... please tell me this goes once the glue is dry? if not I need to buy some new hangers and start all over again :rotfl:
Pic here ... you can just see what I mean ...Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I hesitate to suggest you go out and buy something but.... Could you buy a circle cutter big enough and then use it before you stick stuff together? Also I tend to use double-sided sticky tape for anything like this so I don't get that damp problem. Otherwise you could try pritt or power pritt....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I had a similar problem covering shoe boxes and a photo album last week. I'd used some wallpaper paste I'd got (thought I'd save buying more glue) and while the paper was wet it looked like it would crease and bubble and all sorts but once it dried out properly it was fine so I'd see how it is after a bit more 'drying out' time.
Haven't ordered my door hangers yet -really want the ones with a hooked top but can't seem to find anyMary

Sorry Rusty only just seen this, hopefully by now the glue has dried and you don't have the lumps anymore - am I right?
If not and you're not happy with the finish can you stick things over the bumps to hide them? Would it be possible to take the paper off and sand the hanger back to flat finish?
I promise for mine I used either double sided tape or PVA glue with scrapbook paper and worked ok for me. I glued and cut one side at a time and left the 'edges' showing (if that makes sense). I concentrated the glue around the edges and around the circle hole as this is where you'd have problems with the paper coming off, getting caught and ripping etc.
Let me know how you're doing with them now. Hope everything is rosy again
Love your papers by the way! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
They are still a complete disaster
They look awful
... I am going to rip the paper off them later on and will go and buy some pritt stick and try that way. Luckily I bought 2 sheets of each paper in case of any disasters. ... I may well even just buy some new hangers and put it down to experience.
Thanks for the help.
Mary I saw some somewhere ... I will have a nosey about and see if I saved the link ... just give me an hour or so though as I have just walked in and the kiddies are eatingRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Thanks Rusty. Good luck with yours.
Hate it when things go wrong -like the paper ripping to bits on my photo album last week..........decided in the end to leave the back cover as it was, plain black.
Rainmac - when yu did yours and left the edges showing, was that so you could turn them over once they'd been glued -if you know what I mean ? Or did you trim them very carefully ?Mary

Greta minds think alike, I bought extra paper too in case of problems :rotfl: . So sorry they haven't worked. I would use glue sparingly and concentrate it at the edges. You def wouldn't have the problem if you used double sided tape but unlike glue you have no moveability (is this a word?) with tape - i.e. sticks straight away so you have to make sure you are spot on with the positioning!
Good luck:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
