You'll be up to your eyes in flannels, glue and hangers - good luck, sounds like a great evening to me! Add a bit of chocolate and a glass of wine/cup of tea (whichever you'd rather) and you'll be away :D

Thanks Rusty. Good luck with yours.
Hate it when things go wrong -like the paper ripping to bits on my photo album last week..........decided in the end to leave the back cover as it was, plain black.

Rainmac - when yu did yours and left the edges showing, was that so you could turn them over once they'd been glued -if you know what I mean ? Or did you trim them very carefully ?

To be honest mary I didn't think to cover the edges at all and they look absoutely fine as they are. I know I wouldn't be able to make a neat enough job of the edges - they are curved :p ! All I did with mine was glue one side of hanger, stick down onto paper, cut round and then repeated with the other side and then decorated both sides. You could always paint the edges and inner bit of circle hole that is visible prior to adding paper, this would be easier than trying to cover in paper. I think anyway! Or you could do what i did and not bother :rotfl:

Thanks rainmac - I could see me fiddling and swearing for days if I tried to cover the edges. The only thing I might do it stick a coat of paint on the edges (got some tester pots kicking around that would do it)

I wrapped mine up in paper which is possibly why I screwed it up then :(

I like to make things difficult for myself and whilst trying to find the link for Mary (sorry Mary I can't find it now :( ) I stumbled across these ...

So just ordered 2 ... then I will make these ones for the kids with the same papers

That looks pretty...........but I'd best stick to the oblong straight ones.........grandchildren being twins they might not like it if one gets a different sort...............lol

No prob. about not finding the other sort. OH already thinks I've lost the plot but has said he will have a go at cutting me one out of some pieces of MDF I found..................mind you, when he'll do this I've no idea so might order some anyway...................lol

They're the right shape savvy - they're cardboard and would soon get bent about -well by my grandchildren anyway............lol
The only other way I can think of doing them is to have those the same shape as rainmac's but just make the ribbon through the top a bit longer then maybe that could serve as the hanging part for the door knob.

I saw some on a doorhanger crafts search, with just a square block and ribbon attached and thought that may be a way round it.

savvy - thanks for that. I could do a variation on that. I've got some odd bits of mdf kicking about that I could use -decorate one very 'pretty' for grandaughter and one more basic for grandson.
