Thanks Krystal - just looked to see what tester pots I'd got.....thought I'd got some off-white but turns out its a very pale green where I mixed it to do something else..............lol My terracotta has gone lumpy so I'm left with two shade of very pale green and a jade green...........found to my peril as I should the pots and spilt some..................lol Got large tub of magnolia but don't think that will be right with the stripey one I've just papered -needs to be a proper 'cream/off white'. I've got some blue stripey paper I might have a go with on one of the other two.......wanted to do a blue pocket on one for grandson.
Just put the paper on the otherside of the greeny coloured one I'd done (that was the thickest paper and not so fiddly to trim.

Trimming is the hardest part..........I used my sons craft knife.......the straight sides were easy but the hole in the middle a nightmare...!!!! Don't know of any easy way really. One I did before I drew round the hole and cut it out before I stuck it on but still needed to trim a bit more.

If you pick a colour similar to the paper then will probly look fine.

What does everyone do about the edges if you're papering?
I've painted the edges before I papered, IF I had the right coloured paint. And if not I've got a set of pastels and have used them around the edges and then rubbed it in really well so it doesn't come off on to the recipients hands! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm doing a right girly one for my sister at the mo........................but I'm not that girly so should be interesting! Dunno why but most of my family consists of lads so I'm much more tuned in to boys stuff!!

Wish I'd painted round the edges of mine now..............didn't think -as usual:confused:
OH keeps asking me what I'm going to decorate them with............I've not a clue............. Only done one thats what I'd call 'finished'. The others just have the paper on and not the foggiest notion what to put on them.
And so far not done any real 'boyish ones'..........must get some blue paper......had fabric sample thats a sort of grey/blue that would make a nice pocket. And want to do a Santa one like Rainmac did..............oh eck.........at this rate I'll not have enough hangers !!!
I feel a 'list' coming on -who's having which one.....................lol

This rate I'll be buying shares in paste and paper.........local shoe shop has promised me as many boxes as I want - can cover them for pressies......................lol

LOL aww mary wish I could see them to provide a bit of inspiration  One tip tho', I've used a card making book from the lirary to give me inspiration for this girly one, otherwise I'd be stuck! :o

What a bout looking through some card making websites to give you some ideas, I know I usually get stuck for ideas, but when I see something I like I adapt for my project ;)

Mary, have a think about what the recipients like to do and see if you can do something around that? I covered up some little tears with ribbon and/or stickers.

I think a pocket with some nice words on a tag plus some buttons and a bit of ribbon would look fab!

rainmac - don't worry.............yours look terrific they really do..........you know you;re the reason wer'e all frantically tearing our hair out doing these..................lol:rotfl:
I want to put little pockets on mine with little message on to imply 'in' or 'out' sort of thing. Have to phrase it right for two 16 year olds.................lol (so OH tells me) Might pinch your christmas idea with the 'santa stop here' tag on it for baby grandson if thats ok.

Ones I''ve done so far (as far as colour goes anyway) are
wishy washy dark brown -finished that with pocket with button on and laces
stripey one (pale green/pink/cream) -nothing on that yet
    stripey one (rust/drk.brown/cream) - ditto
Dark jade type green(sort of blotchy) - ditto

Two more to go not started on yet.

Thinking of one doing them for:
teenage grandson - likes computers and all hi-tech stuff
    teenage grandaughter - anything 'girlie'
baby grandson - will do christmas one/or a 'hush, baby sleeping' type
my son - think he'll end up with the brown one
ex foster girl - do a 'dressing room' one for her

That leaves me a spare one !!!! Oh eck............bit of bad planning there !

LOL rainmac, your fronts more than make up for your undone edges ;):D Horses for courses and all that, I personally prefer a colour edge, but if you are doing shaker type ones then I think it looks better without.....................or a dab of white ;) :rotfl:

Riiiiiiight, first girly one EVER!!! It's for my sister whose name begins with L and not the giant worm I seem to have made on the front of this one :o:o:o Honestly it looks like an 'L' in real life, my photography is completely ruing all my handiwork lately!

The paper looks better in real life too, and you can't really see the smudged pastel edging I attempted either
