Here is my first Hanger, I am pretty pleased with it. :D

I decided to go with painiting it rather than using paper, I will try paper on my other one.
So I watered down some left over emulsion and then painted both sides.
Once dry I used sandpaper on it to give it a shabby chic look, I think it worked:rotfl:

The shoes and glasses stickers I already had and the rest is just left over card. The writing is done with a black write 4 all pen (I love these pens you can write permanent on absolutley anything)

Anyhoo it is for my Mum's dressing room (my step dad finally turned my old room into one....only took him 10 years:p )

    Here it is.....

Thanks Mary, yep all my own writing.

I am having second thoughts about using paper on the other one, I want it for my neice so I may just buy a pink tester pot of paint. Painting it was easy, it was the waiting until it dried that was hard....I just wanted to get it finished straight away :D

I'm fairly pleased with what I've done, despite the tricky trimming bits and just hope grandchildren are so gobsmacked that their nan actually made them that they won't notice................lol
Stuck now thinking of what to put on the other side of grandsons..........one sides fabric pocket for messages then Im stuck ! Apart from car stuff I've got and not sure somehow that looks right with the sort of wishy washy paper I've used...................I think maybe some natural col. corragated card and a few buttons might be enough. Grandaughters is pink/green striped - haven't got the right col. material to do a pocket on hers and sent for some more fre fabric samples but they;re the wrong colour.................lol
Got them from kiddiwinkscurtains and they're decent sizes but just not right colour...............think I could make pockets out of them for some more hangers though (if I painted them...........lol)
Love your handwriting.............thats where I'd come unstuck I think.

Shelly, gorgeous door hanger! Well done, the sanded paint effect is beautiful, I think I'm going to have to try that. Your mum is going to love it :D

well done savvy - I'm after embellishments too for grandaughters...........I went and used striped paper on it and think I'd been better off with something else. Can't think what to put with stripes (maybe brain has gone to mush with all the tension of gluing and trimming.............lol)

My sons craft knife..............its a good one he had at art college. I think it was just me being a bit over the top fiddly when I was trimming it. It trimmed down the sides a treat.
The last piece I put on grandaughters I cut the hole out before I stuck it on and that worked a lot better. Still, they don't look so bad now.........I'll see what OH says when he comes home..............lol

Oh eck............OH looked, frowned and almost freaked out at the button on the pocket.............lol (he has a thing about buttons -hates them) so he''s no help with what to do with the other side of it.
I reeled off some things to put in the pocket -little messages like -Chilling Out- and he said to try and think of something else for a 16 year old........well, I'm at a loss ! Bloomin men !
