Hi Mary, I'm not a fabric person unfortunately so not sure about what glue to use. I bet someone like sethsgran would know. I think it sounds like such a cool idea to use fabric so would be great if you could.
Sorry just seen this did a quick search for fabric samples and saw this site... http://www.kiddywinkscurtains.co.uk/allfabrics.php
Select fabric you like then select free sample, not sure what size they are. I ordered a few samples from Cath Kidston and they came in about 7 days but doubt if they will have boys style LOLNothing Changes if Nothing Changes0 -
Thanks sethsgran - I've order 4 different ones............doesn't say what size they'll be but I've ordered fabric samples before from other places and they've been big enough to use on a card if nothing else.
I sent for cath kidson sample yesterday...........was daft, didn't realise I could send for more than 1.................lolMary

Done another hanger...
Front
Back
This one is for a friend who loves gardening and her OH loves cooking so on one side of the little card in the pocket says "...in the garden" and on the other side says "...in the kitchen".
Went to Hobbycraft today for some glue and ended up with lots of bits :rotfl: including these...
Going to use the tree (bought a few) for Xmas decorations (going to see if OH can drill a hole in the top for me to thread ribbon through) and put onto a... yep, you've guessed it, a Xmasy door hangerThe animals are for door plates. I've been thinking of making one each for my boys all week and these decided me. I'm going to find plaque thingys to stick the animals on and add names etc.

rainmac - I want to do pockets on mine............if I decide not to use the fabric I've got, how do you do yours in card ? Is it a case of just cutting it out, folding three edges in and glueing them to the hanger ? (Hope that makes sense) cos I can't think of any other way of doing itMary

Hi Melissa, the embellishments for the hanger were from Hobbycraft too, 3 for £1.49 - the little heart, house and watering can on the front. They are wooden. Are they what you liked? The rest are bits I had at home already.
The wooden items from Hobbycraft were 49p each. I thought that was a great price. I'm itching to have a go at the Xmas door hanger but I'm really tired tonight and am worried I'll muck it up!
Also bought 3 of the Papermania mini scrapbooks for £1.99 each - one red/green Xmas; one pale blue Xmas and one birthday. Bargain (OH wouldn't think so they are sort of 'hidden' until he goes to work tomorrow morning :rotfl: ). If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Hi Mary, I've tended to use vellum for my pockets (had some already) as it's quite thin and I think it looks nice that you can see through it. I simply get a piece of vellum, bring the two edges into the middle and fold each edge (use enough so the paper overlaps in the middle). Use double sided tape along the overlap to secure it. Then fold one end up and tape it to form the base and voila you have a pocket. I then use double sided tape again to stick the back of the pocket (the side with the seam and folded up base) to the hanger. Does that make sense? Please say if not and I'll try and use pictures! I then faff round for blooming ages trying to cut a piece of card to fit into the pocket:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
