It's caffeine - as it's the only thing keeping me awake at the moment:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Afternoon peeps
I`m a bit later on here today as i`ve been very busy.
Made a big batch of cottage pies and a couple of loaves, walked the houndies and been out to buy some bits for them including a new brush as DH has lost the one that we had:mad:
Met a very nice lady who was picking up some bits and bobs that i advertised for sale locally and now i think i need a nap before i tidy the kitchen.
Happy Birthday Bargain Rzl :bdaycake:
R.Mac - I can`t believe your SIL`s reaction, as others have said before me she probably realises how much she will miss. Try not to think about it and enjoy your pregnancy. ((((HUGS))))
Dorry - that was scary! i don`t like heights but watched through my fingers:D
Aussie - thanks for the pic - just what i needed:D
It`s gone pitch black here and is about to throw it down so i`m definitely going to have that nap - moneydribbler - i just read your name as merry drinker so i know i`m tired:rotfl:

SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
afternoon!
many thanks for all the birthday wishes for DS2:T he will be delighted when I show him later, his favourite present is a T shirt from play.com that says I love(heart) my mum! aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh bless him:D , I dont feel quite so old now knowing lots of you have older children nearer to my own age;)(42 in a couple of weeks)
Pippa.s - what a terrible thing to happen to your friends son, hope the person responsible gets charged for it xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Aussie - I loved the story, naughtly little DGS! Bet the other boy shares the swing in future though!
Chrisca - lovely pic and lovely name, congratulations to all of you!
Rmac - nice that you've stopped feeling icky, that's grotty when it just seems to start as soon as you open your eyes and go on all day. As for your sis in law, well, really!
Elec peeps in their wisdom have decided that I now need a new meter, so a man has just arrived to fit one! My day out seems less and less like it's going to happen, though bless my friend she is still happy to pop over just for something to eat :-)
Oh, man has solved it all apparently and no new meter needed, will phone my friend and see what she wants to do as time has really got away with us!
Sorry for moaning on, but it is so frustrating when you plan something nice and it all goes pear shaped! Still I should stop whining, my friend is replacing the window I broke the other day when I mowed the lawn, a stone flew up! and in return I'm paying for his ticket to a concert - one I wanted to go to anyway, and I was going to get him the ticket for his birthday! So something nice to look forward to - note to self, stop whinging!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Hi all - just been shopping and now I'm sat down with a much-needed cuppa.
PippaS - what a dreadful thing to happen; I do hope your friend's DS is alright. It's the one thing we Mums dread when our lads are out in the pubs. No wonder your poor friend is in bits - I would be. (((Hugs))) to them both.
Aussie - I've just treated myself to another look at that lovely rear end! I think I'll have to bookmark him! You've provided a tonic to a lot of hormonal ladies on here!
Well, I spent the grand total of £14 on food this afternoon - admittedly, I didn't need a lot of the usual things because I've been on my own but I also decided that next week we are going to have the very cheapest meals I can do (having looked at a couple of other threads for ideas - what on earth would we do without this site and all the MSEers and OSers?); I shall try and cost everything and see how much it really costs to feed us. I'm thinking about the coming winter when a lot of our money will be going on heating; we still have to eat!
I had a nice surprise when I checked my bank account and found that moneysupermarket had paid in the £30 cashback for switching from B Gas to E.On. That will go toward Christmas so I've got Co-op divi coupons, some High Street vouchers and money in PayPal from surveys - quite a lot altogether, plus I'm making lots of pressies this year. I really hope to have the cheapest Christmas possible. I'm also going to count out the pennies in the penny jar. It's a big demi-john that should only have coppers in it but DH will keep putting silver and £1 coins in it - I shall sort it all out and put that by for Christmas, too.
Well, I'm going to treat myself to a couple of hours sit down with some knitting and then make a risotto in the Remoska - it's made with bacon so should work out quite cheap. I shall make the full amount and freeze what I don't eat. Tomorrow, I'm trying toad-in-the-hole in there too.
The sky keeps threatening to empty - it goes really dark and then suddenly clears up; it's also very windy - certainly not typical for July!
Anyway, will love you and leave you and call back later. I need another cuppa!
