OS DAILY FRIDAY 11TH jULY

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Kaat.

You must have wet the bed this morning....
I am off fishing soon, so I need to get my tackle out ready to go.
We are off to Newquay to fish a competition against the fire service. This is the 4th year and we are 2-1 up, so we need to try and get ahead.
The weather looks pretty dull, I just hope the sea is not too lumpy as it makes for a difficult day standing up and falling over.

Well must get a move on, I am organising it, so I have to get everything ready.

Morning Kaat and N9eav. One more day of these insanely early starts, then a couple of days off (joy!) The last week has been so busy - I'll be glad when it's over. Sadly, off to work for me in a few minutes. I think I've put the OH in a mood by waking him slightly without thinking. Just time to check that my train is on time, and then I'll have to get to the bus stop. Yesterday was quite fun - I'd got some bargains from Morrison's, and the rest of the office were amazed. This morning I just feel a bit dizzy, and am thinking roll on 6pm, when I get home.

And so, off to work I go! Have a good day, everyone *hugs*

Another three hour sleep for me....I'm wide awake too. Never mind, I expect I'll conk out again in an hour or so but I'll stay up for the day at 9.00am at the latest.

I got the papers yesterday and the jobs sections were rather slim, so today I'll concentrate on chasing agencies.

Yesterday I bought some v.ripe/reduced bananas with the intention of making some banana bread, so I'll do that today as well. I have enough bananas for two loaves -I'll feed one to my friend's children, the other I'll scoff alone.:rotfl:

morning everyone. hope every one is well today.
I'm on the final countdown....8 hours work till I'm on holiday. we're away on Sunday for a week to Spain, and I havent thought about packing yet. So tomorrow will be busy! we're off to a villa with a washing machine so wont need to take much. Have a week at home after that before I have to go back to work.
DD spent yesterday in bed ill, so hopefully she will be back to full strength by sunday,. DS is in huff as he failed theory test by three marks on the danger recognition part...especially because he had a near perfect score on the other part of the test. so another £30 to sit it again
got letter yesterday about a nurse bank job I sometimes do, looks like finally might be getting my back pay from October 2004 although there was no mention about what I am owed and when I might finally get it (and no that is not a typo 2004- Mr G. Brown some nurses are still waiting to be paid!)

Windy here but dry. Toe is really painful so no running for me today. OH is on an early so have stripped the bed and am now dying my hair. Need to go to butchers and farm shop for veg. Then studying. Will go to the allotment after tea and sort the netting out to keep the pigeons off my cabbages.

Morning all
OOh N9eav, I got all excited thinking about your tackle, lol.
I managed to get to my W.I. meeting yesterday evening as BIL was having a few good hours & hubby had been at work all day so felt more able to cope with him.
We should have had a talk on the history of tea but the speaker wasn't able to attend so his wife came to talk about creative writing. I found this very interesting, I have had 2 or 3 goes at joining our local writers circle, but they don't reply to emails or phone messages, they seem to be very cliquey. I also looked at joining a writers class, but they were far too expensive. Still I got a few ideas from the speaker.

Weather lookes nice here at the moment, need to pop out a couple of times today but other than that normal stuff of washing and office work.

So nothing exciting to report, DD had a lovely day yesterday and enjoyed her chinese dinner even though she had bands put in her teeth yesterday in readiness for her brace. Certainly has changed since I had my one.

Hurrah for friday :j off to w**k today to prepare the food for the party, we have think 75 - 80 coming, doing buffet food nothing too difficult, we have to go shopping first thing then get on with it. Working till 2.15, then rush off to collect dd, drop her at my mums, back to mine for a quick bath, and get my fancy dress on :rolleyes: and back to work at 6 till midnight. Will try to post a photo tomorrow of my costume, I am the Home ecc teacher.

OH is home alone tonight, so I have got him a pizza and coleslaw for tea, dd is off to her nans, and has requested home made fish and chips, she loves my mums chips, and says they are sooo much better than my oven chips , I suppose I don't mind loosing out to my lovely mum.

Katt, you were up sooo early, you will neep a nap later xx

N9eav enjoy the fishing, please can you post the recipe for the beans when you have time

Now yesterday evening I was going to clean out the oven, hoover the lounge and tidy up the kitchen properly. But I started getting a headache and I ended up in the bathroom (not cleaning!). All I can say is thank god for OH cos Lily was going loopy as well and I was certainly in no state to see to her.

Usually go out to see my mum this pm. However its talking of rain and someone has taken the carseat to his work (naming no names of course). In his defence he did do the washing up this morning, so I'll let him off.

With luck it won't rain and I will be able to walk there. So far we're looking good...lots of sunshing, but what's the betting that it won't last?

Tea was going to be fish and chips....except I was going to buy the chips. Hmmmm...what to do.....
