    Hi Tim,

I've looked through a number of your responses throughout this thread and wondered if it would be possible to give me your thoughts on the following mattresses?

As I'm a new user on this forum, I'm not allowed to post links so have had to remove the www. element of the links below.

    clickonmattresses.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=303&sort=4a&options_values_id=72&options_values_id2=76

    clickonmattresses.co.uk/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=63&sort=4a&options_values_id=72&options_values_id2=76

    furniture123.co.uk/layouts/item.asp/itmid/16865/d/Memory-Foam-Co-Visco-1000-Memory-Foam-Mattress-with-vCool---FREE-NEXT-DAY-DELIVERY

I'll probably end up buying one of the above so your view would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Chris

The first two links don't work (even with the www. added).

I'm a bit wary about the third one because they say it has a coolmax fabric, but it has the Maxicool logo. These are two different brands. The depth of the memory foam is ok at 50mm, but the density is a little low at 55kg. Also the only prices on their site appear to be trade prices.

The memory foam on the last one isn't worth having at 30mm.

I've in need of a new bed and mattress and wondered if anyone had found somewhere reasonable that sells them?

Ikea is very cheap for beds but then the mattresses are a non standard size and more expensive... plus my nearest Ikea is 30 miles away and I can (just) get the bed into my car but definitely not a mattress.

Also my existing Ikea bed is 200cm long and 140cm wide and I don't know if that is double or king sized!

    Hi
I'm thinking of buying a La Romantica Madrid mattress following comments on here but I have heard that they are not suitable for a slatted frame (pine bed frame). Is this true and if so does anyone know of any mattresses which are equivalent (price, quality, comfort) which would be suitable?

    Many thanks

Pocket sprung only mattresses aren't really suitable for slatted bases with gaps over 1". However pocket sprung and memory foam mattresses with the memory foam on both sides would be suitable for slats with gaps of up to 3" because the memory foam on the bottom will spread the weight out over the slats.

200cm x 140cm is a continental double (not a UK size). Some independent manufacturers will supply continental sizes.

The bed is in pieces at the moment so guess I will have to wait until I put it together again to see how big the gap between the slats is and choose a mattress

Some do, but many of them don't like supplying anything non standard. If they do then you often have to either pay over the top or wait a long time.

I don't think they do, but I'm looking into it at the moment.

Tim (or anyone else who might know, did you ever find out if Climasmart do a Mattress cover/protector that could be bought seperately - that way stretching my budget for a mattress!

I think i saw an Outlast one but cant be sure - anyone seen one?
