Guys can someone please advise me on Ergoflex matrresses? Any good experiences?

Also has anyone bought from www bedworld net Are they any good?

    Thanks guys.

I got very excited about Ergoflex - then started wondering why there were so many positive reviews at review centre. It would seem that others have had the same concern - can't link but go to review centre.com and add vt_pid182657.html to the address. Turns out that the Memory Foam Buyers Guide was put up by Ergoflexes marketing firm to promote Ergoflex.

It's amazing to me, but it would seem that the mattress industry is this dark place inhabited by opprobrious rogues who hide with cloak and dagger and will do anything to get a quid off you. No offence mattress industry types, I'm sure some of you are honest and genuine, but after 2 days researching mattresses the world feel somewhat darker and I dirtier!

I received the following from Blindcraft about their Ambassador mattress (pictured here: www edinburgh.gov.uk/bc/shop/onlineshop)

    Ticking: 70% Viscose 30% Polypropylene
Spring Count: 1015 based on a kingsize mattress
Sizes Available: Single, Small Double, Double, Kingsize, Super Kingsize
Miscellaneous: Handles, Brass ventilators, Jiffy Tufted.

But I've no idea whether those details actually reveal much about the quality or value for money? Price for a kingsize mattress only is £320.
Any suggestions for additional questions I should ask them? Many thanks.

    Is it double sided?

Does it give an indication of firmness?

I'm not sure what Jiffy tufted means.
  • Hi Folks

We (myself and my team) are fast reaching the point with this thread where the resource from the amount of reports we are receiving (from multiple members) screaming abuse to us about each other is becoming too great and, frankly, tiresome. We have posted multiple times over this, and other such threads, as has Nile and it still seems people are not heeding the warnings.

Firstly, on the issues of "vested interest", anyone who is taking the time to offer advice to others clearly has an interest in the mattress world; by the very nature of contributing to this thread, they must have. However, we do not allow people to post vested interest comments. This is where a user is seen to drive a sale or advertise their site or products. This can be a fine line, but it isn't helping when people jump down others throats every time someone comments "perhaps take a look at this alternative". If we start getting that pedantic, we might as well shut this thread and lose a great resource (and you can be assured that at the moment that isn't seeming like a bad idea).

Trying to moderate reports on this thread is extremely difficult and we would ask that contributors take a step back and try to consider that under all this there are genuine forum users asking questions and trying to get the best product for their money. These are the people who are suffering most and the people we, as MoneySavingExpert.com, wish to help.

Differences of opinion are fine, and on the issue of review sites or "trusted opinion" type sites, if you believe that it's worth making a comment positively or negatively about your view on the validity of that type of site, that is perfectly ok in a calm, reasoned way. After all, it is up to all users to do their own research. Having the thread descend into a slanging match isn't on.

If you do have an issue with a post, report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com, with your specific reasoning and leave it there.

I'm imploring everyone to get this thread back on track and post in the manner which befits the site. There is a wealth of great information and guidance being lost here amongst the bad blood and accusations.

They don't say much on the web site, except that it is a pocket sprung mattress. The most important thing would probably be the firmness, as you would want a mattress that is suitable for you. Also the overall depth of the mattress would give an indication of the amount of quilting, and therefore the comfort. As it doesn't say non turn, then I should think it would be two sided, but it won't hurt to ask.
  • I have ordered a Ortho 200 memory foam mattress from Trusleep in Lancs and it is on its way.It has2 inches of good density memory foam and they are also throwing in a couple of free memory foam pillows as well as the free next day delivery.
They were extremely efficient and friendly on the phone and they confirmed trackable free next day delivery and a money back, 30 day, free returns policy should the mattress be found to be unsuitable..
Wipes hands, sighs and gets back to the really important things in life like choosing a duvet Duck ? Down ? Goose ? Tencell ? Hollowfibre ? Hollowfibre and silk ?...... ZZZZzzzzzzzzz

Hollowfibre can be very sweaty. As for silk, it is usually a tiny percentage that is actually mixed in with the hollowfibre (same as it is with mattresses with silk in the description).

If money is no object I'd go for goose down.

I'll probably get slated for this, but I did actually work part time in a quilt factory as a kid.

We've had various synthetic, wool and feather duvets over the years but would never depart from pure down now. A good down duvet is warm, light and airy and although they tend to cost a lot more they're worth it.
