    Many thanks to Ashley and everyone else for the advice.

    The Which report is well worth reading - I would advise anybody in a similar situation to have a look at it before choosing any mattress. I've decided not to go with a web supplier but to go to a few local bed stores and actually try some memory mattresses out...I'll just have to get over the initial embarrassment of falling asleep in public...hopefully it won't take long!

    I can't link to it cos I'm a newbie but if you go to the Which (which.co.uk) site then 'Advice Home' - 'Your Home' - 'Choosing the best type of mattress' - there's some sound advice. 'Report'- may have been misleading sorry about that - it's helpful either way.

    You could be cheeky and try them in the shop and then buy online;)
