Brilliant, thanks. Please dont be afraid to mention brands because I wont see it as advertising. I just want a quality bed that will not cause me any more problems.
Thanks Tim.0 -

I suspect that they are seconds.
It says on the listing that the memory foam is 3" deep, but you say it is 2.6". You say that the density is 65kg/m3, but the listing just says high density. The listing also fails to mention that it is a non turn mattress. There is also no mention of make or model......is it your listing on ebay by any chance?
Absolutely not Tim, me and my partner are looking for a memory foam/pocket sprung mattress based on your advice. I can't believe you would make randomn accusations like that.
All i wanted to know was whether that was going to be a good mattress for us? I do have the occasional back problem so I just want a decent mattress, at the moment we have an old coil sprung mattress that is worn out, with a cheap mattress topper on it so cant think that is doing my back any good.
Please give me your advice, anything I should ask the manufacturer of the mattress to find out more? I assume their email to me has the "correct" specifications fo the mattress.... so what should I do, I did say did you know of any similar alternatives of better or similar quality that are of the same price or less, i dont mind paying "slightly more" i think £250 is our upper limit realistically including postage. Please help and please dont make silly accusations again. I can understand why you made it, but sometimes its just best not to say anything. Assumptions are the mother of all **** ups as they say lol. I live in uk for the record.0 -

I apologise if the listing is nothing to do with you. On MSE it is quite often the case that when a brand new member comes on and immediately promotes a web page, then it is usually their page.
The simple answer is that you can't get a good quality pocket sprung/memory foam mattress for £250 including delivery. You might have more luck going for open coil sprung with memory foam, or pocket sprung only.0 -

Tim thank you so much for suggesting i email the seller, he's refunded my money! I can't quite believe it as i didn't think he would but he didn't quibble at all, he asked for some photos as proof but that was all. He has also said he doesn't want the mattress back, so we will try and sell it on or give it away!
Anyway i've bought our new bed, I went for the Myers Absolute Luxury in the end as i found a king size divan set for £300, which i think is a really good deal. I went back to bed shop and tried out a few others but we really did find the myers the most comfortable so i'm really pleased with our decision. Can't wait till it arrives now!0 -

Really, good on you.
It just goes to show that it must have been a cheap and nasty mattress in the first place. Otherwise he would have wanted it back.0 -
Took delivery of our John Lewis mattress yesterday and we are really pleased with it. Very comfortable, of course, not top of the range, but for the spare room it's fine and enough to pay.
Thank you Tim for the advice about the slats, I can see now, how we needed to put the extra ones on.0 -
LA ROMANTICA. Madrid Memory Foam and Pocket Sprung Double Divan Beds. From 419.00
Anybody on this forum has bought one of those bed? I have read the post of "which mattress on the forum" and am still confused. What stops me from buying this bed is I cannot check it on the department store as it seems it sells only online? I like to know what I buy. Would appreciate some feedback on this!! I am a back pain sufferer and wonder whether I should go for an orthopaedic mattress or a memory foam one. Thanks0 -
i got an email from the mattressman about a sale on their website and just realised too late that you can go through quidco for them

I'm not knocking mattressman, but when are people going to realise that companies don't just give away money, so all the money you get back by using quidco has just been added on to the price of the goods. It's just an advertising ploy to make people think they are getting something that they aren't.0
