Undate on replacing my 10 year old Relyon with perhaps another Relyon or something of a similar quality.

I had emailed Relyon and not having had a reply contacted them by phone. I was greeted by the receptionist and ask to speak to customer relations or someone who could help me with the specification of a bed I was interersted in purchasing.

"Trade or Puplic Puplic" I said "puplic" the person who deals with that is off sick and won't be back to next week, "would she also deal with emails as I have not had a reply to one I sent" Yes.

How the mighty have fallen by the sound of it they are not going to be able to answer the question any way how does the spec of my old Relyon compare to a new one I guess they would say the new one is better, it is not untill I pay pound notes and see how long it lasts that I would find out.

Looking forward to some reports back from people who have bought the La romantica recently.

Thanks to Tim and All have a good weekend.

I could, but it would be pages long in order to cover everything. Also I can't put it on the first page.

I agree with the idea of a buyers guide, i never realised finding a decent bed was so difficult :wall: Ive been reading through this thread the last couple of days & all I really know for sure is Tim's advice to avoid silentnight beds.

Tim what is your advice regards pillow top beds? Also on a budget of say £450 what manufacturers should I be eyeing up?

After reading through the whole thread you have probably forgotten my views on pillow tops. Well they are one of the worst gimmicks on the market. They are usually filled with loose fillings that can move about so that you end up sleeping in a hollow. However they do feel very comfortable in the shop when they are new.

Pillow tops also make mattresses non turn. I only actually know of one manufacturer that makes a two sided pillow top mattress, but I refuse to sell any loose pillow top mattress on principal.

I've never heard of waterlatex, unless it is the new gel type mattresses that never really took off.

The only mattress I have eveer slept on that contained latex was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on, and was very hot. However it was made by Layzee Beds who are part of the Silentnight group.

Do you have any more information about it such as make, model, web site, the shop?

  • Hi Tim,thanks for your reply. The mattress in question is available from a website....https://www.bradbury.co.uk/relaxam.From their site i got the following info..Watterlatex relaxam made in Italy by Magniflex.12 year warranty.Reversable with summer side padded in cotton, winter side in wool.100%cotton cover. My local bed shop tells me the core is made from pure latex.I have spent some time on the mattress and found it to suit my ageing back.I put in a google search for this product and came up with many companies selling them. The best price i have found was £219 on the net,a price my local independent shop will match, this beeing for a 3ft. single.Thakyou once again for you time Tim.

I don't like to sound paranoid, but you were asking for advice on the mattress this morning, but now you have the mattress and have slept on it. You are also singing the praises of the seller.

In my experience Magniflex produce very low quality mattresses.

Maybe it is poetic justice that the link didn't work.
