I had a lucky money day yesterday!
I had a slow puncture which I took to the local garage to have fixed, but was told would need to be replaced (about £50!), then I mentioned that my work collegue had told me her brother works at the place & to say Hi to him, so they went I got him, and he fixed the puncture for me rather than change the tyre AND he did it for free! :T
    So No Money Spent!

    That's good! :T

I've still got my fingers crossed over my vespa bills but like my Grandad said 'If you're waiting on your Dad to take it over you'll be waiting a long time.'

    Payday today :j

I have £45 in my wallet so I only need to take my board out the bank tonight. I'm planning on doing some super early birthday present buying for my mum and dad. Their birthdays are in october but boots have lots of deals on for the products they love using so I though I best get it now and save myself some £££.

Hopefully my bank balance should stay nearly untouched until next weekend, I've got nothing major planned all week so *fingers crossed*

Things didn't really go to plan this weekend money wise!

Spent a bit on early birthday and christmas presents, bright side I have all presents for my parents and brothers birthdays sorted, plus my grandparents christmas presents.
£15 on petrol, £10 on take aways ( i know I shouldn't but I was having a lazy weekend ) £20 in asda spoiling my boyfriend then £20 spoiling myself.

Given up the ghost of saving this week. Ringing the bank up in abit to be told how much money I haven't got and I have to do some clothes shopping today (only matalan) for work clothes, as all my blacks have dulled and my blouses are looking muddy. :o

I'm starting to feel guilty because I know I really shouldn't have spent so much this week as I was doing so well! I'm banning myself from reading the boots thread and I'm going to look at the money saving ones again. *slaps wrist*

Don't give up Cinny91, I had a bad weekend too, thought I'd try having cash instead of a card on me, so took out £50 to last me through the week, and I have none of it left now! Thats not meant to happen :o !
I'm thinking the only answer is to avoid shops of any sort, and I am going to find the thread that shows you how to do cheap food and work out my meals for the week. New Day, New Start!

Good luck with your meal planning!

I was feeling abit deflated after my spending this weekend, but you're right, New Day, New Start! I just rang the bank and have more in then I thought I did (love it when that happens!) Hoping the rest of the week will go as planned, and because of this weekend splurge I won't feel the need to next weekend! Feeling abit better about it now.

    Get a grip woman :D

You've sunk back to your old ways - Alan Sugar would say 'you're a light weight' :rotfl:

You need a structured budget - money to spend - money to save.

You may be able to see things clearer if you create a simple spreadsheet and plan the rest of the year - use a column for each month or week, put down your incomings for week/month the at the top of each column and list essential outgoings. Then from the remainder decide how much to spend, how much to save - then you'll be able to project what you'll have at then end of the year.

You could unsubscribe from all those shopping emails.

I unsubscribed to most of them the other night when I was thinking 'shouldn't be spending!' I'm an advertisers dream atm. I'm slowly eating away at my savings and I'm feeling bad about it. (Although I'm wearing my new shoes now and they are making me very happy indeed!)

I've taken my visa out of my wallet and it's nestled at the very bottom of my money box, full of bank satements receipts ect so if I do go to get it out I should be hit by spending shame. :o

The spreadsheet is a good idea! A very good idea actually.

I should be back on track in not too long at all, still I think its going to be more of me handling my money better than saving. Of course having alot of £££ in the bank is a clear bonus ;)

Thanks for that e-kick up the bum Sooler!
