Not heard anything from the bank yet  and even when I do I have to send a personal cheque and I don't have a cheque book so I'm abit stuffed. Managing to save quite well in my current account atm though, still at £100, can't seem to get over £200 for long.

Good luck saving for the holiday!! I've only been skiing once I all I remember is constantly falling off the lift (it was one of those pully-uppy ones) Me and Frank are planning on a proper holiday next year too, but we cant decide where.

It's horrible when you finally get some extra money and about half of it gets taken away in tax! I started my extra hours last week so I'm getting about £125 a week now. Getting down to some serious saving this weekend. Fingers crossed.

awesome yeah, i know what you mean about saving in a current account but it can be quite hard sometimes, you just have to say like, I will not go below £200 or whatever - treat this like the new zero lol. I try to do this too, and like, wheneve it goes above £200 and there is nothing that I need to pay soon or anything (like rent, bills etc) i move any excess into my proper savings account.
Im not at work today and i should have a good day but ill lose a whole days earnings and it means ill have to either try and get loads of overtime to make up for it (but it wont be overtime rate untill I've done todays 8hrs) or I'll just be short hmm.
I really need to have about £550 - £600 by the first week of october though so I can sort out the bfs present so I'm going to need to get on the phone to his relations and ask for some donations I think but I feel v uncomfortable doing this.... can't really afford to spend all that on him though when I dont have it  I should have about £400 by the end of this week but ah man this money stuff is too complicated!
had Frank got another job yet?

I class £100 as my zero. With all the christmas present shopping I'm like £7 off it this week. Which was a shock when I went to the bank! Got some of my tax back this week though, £47 I think, which is a nice surprise. And I just got an email from Aurora with my £5 amazon voucher for doing their oasis survey so things are looking quite well money wise this week!

What is it you're after getting him? If it's off of Amazon I can pm you my £5 voucher code, I don't really have any use for it until november time when I do my monster dvd shop for chirtmas and I think it might run out by then.

Frank's still looking hard for a job! He's after being a postie atm I think.

Be nice if you could though! Good luck with getting the money together for it, my uncle does lessons and always seems to enjoy it.

Think I'll save the voucher until I get Franks new wheel trims. But he keeps on 'forgetting' the measure them.

    I can't believe it's been 2 months since I joined this site!

Right!! Yet another friday, £280 in the bank. Which looks quite nice written down!

Going to Meadowhall with Mum later, Going to take £40 out the bank and try to stick to that. Getting my sister her last christmas present, and getting Frank some smellies while they're on offer in boots. Also going to get my mum and dad their tea / coffee sets. so I'll have alot of wrapping to do this afternoon.

Took £30 out the bank and almost spent it all.. hmm.
Most of it went on Frank, filled a storage box (from poundland) with things he loves :) so I'm half way with his present now! Also got myself some felt tips, for my 'wreck this journal', a slushie and bought my mum a boost juice. So £252 in the bank, and I guess I'll be at about £200 at payday. we'll that's my limit anyways.

Also! If anyone lives near meadowhall, the mighty boosh are doing a meet and greet in WhSmiths in meadowhall on the 11th of October. Saw the poster today!

wow! Frank is such a lucky guy!
I got paid again yesterday but I was expecting a lot more :( have to wait for my payslip to arrive today so I can check it all out and see how much tax and and ni they took
And I had a full day off this week and no overtime and am having monday off so my future wages wont be great which is annoying because I need the money for the boys present and general uni!
hopefully though I'll get the tax back in about a year and i'll have forgotten about it and then it will have been like a savings scheme and that will be ok!
not planning on doing much today, need to badly clean the house up a bit so hopefully should be a nsd!
I think you should set up an online savings account you know, it just makes it easier to seperate the money and to let it build up and you can get a good interest rate. Also log onto my current ac and then just send over a little amount sometimes to round it up, or if I had a lot of nsds or if I got paid, cashback, a voucher etc and then the savings really do build but you can get them if its an emergency!
When I go back to uni I think I'm going to start concentrating more on saving and writing it down to motivate me, hopefully then people will actually get xmas presents this year!

Yeah, I really need to sort some kind of saving thing out. Just so many options, I don't want to pick the wrong one! I have the letter from Abbey for the savings account now, but I've stupidly misplaced it.
Hope you had a nsd! I was planning on today being one of them but at 9:30 this morning I found myself at the garage buying the sunday express and a box of chocolates.

Plans for this weekend went down the drain, Frank and I have both been shattered from work and both seem to be getting colds so we just sat about eating comfort food and took the dogs for a walk.

Anyways, I best get off. Make my lunch for tomorrow and settle down on the sofa with a cup of tea and a kit kat in time for wife swap. From that sentence I must sound 30++ I'll post a better weekend-round-up-thingamajig tomorrow :)
