    Hello again folks

The mousaka I mentioned earlier is almost made - just have to do the "sauce" for the top; have also done an apple pie, which cooks at the same temperature, to make good use of the oven.

It hasn't stopped raining here all day, so I have a bathroom full of wet washing (don't want to tumble it if I can avoid it).

ELONA: is your lentil pate vegetarian? If so, I'd love to know how to make it.

Hope everyone has a pleasant evening:wink:

    Hello everyone again

The sunshine didn't last too long - it's bucketing now. Good job I didn't do any washing.

AnnieStar - please please PLEASE set up a webcam when you're taking Pheobe's sample, I'm sure it'll be very educational. Seriously though, I am sure I read something about this very dilemma - I'll have a hunt around and if I find any advice will pass it on..no pun intended...though you might have already accomplished your mission. Oh and happy anniversary to you and your OH, and I hope that his trip to the GP gets him on the mend.

Triggles - I hope that whatever the issue is with your bloods it can be sorted out without fuss. Good luck at the GP tomorrow.

Tired Mum - it's only Wednesday!! I always think that the longer it takes for a company to write after an interview the better. Rejection letters can be rattled off very quickly and so hit the post earlier, however an offer letter and all the stuffing that goes in the envelope takes longer and requires more care. Fingers crossed for you, I hope you are successful.

Likewise to other Old Stylers or their partners who are looking for wo*k. It's very scary. It's the not knowing when the next job is going to start, though there will be a next job for all of us!!! Pink.1970 - if you want to mull things over or just rant or whatever, please don't think for a second that you are burdening us. You're free to say what you want (obviously nothing too rude!) on here and there is a collective knowledge and understanding here to draw upon.

Elona, I'm surprised you didn't kick your hubbie in the knee when he said that to you. What a cheeky boy!

PippaS - oh your poor friend, she must be totally lost and devestated to be without her life partner. You're being such a good friend. I watched a programme on the telly last night about young widows, it was so sad what these ladies and their children had to go through.

The assessment went ok. I arrived slightly early and managed to get the whole thing done and finished. It's a 40 mile drive there - over an hour on the road each way not to mention the expense. Do I really want that job? Err no.... I hope they don't offer it to me.:o

Hugs to everyone who's poorly today.

    Snowy

    Evening all,

Welcome to all the newbies, you will like it here.
Hugs to those in need or are having troubles with illness, job hunting etc.
Hester, I would recommend that you suggest to your MIL she that takes responsibility for her son! Hugs to you.
To all those with poorly children, hugs.
Welcome back Haribo, glad you had a lovely holiday.
Chrisca, congrats on the birth of your DGD. Can't wait to see photos.
Happy anniversay to Mr & Mrs Anniestar.
Moilerie, I too have a Remoska (monster!) and I love it, only had it a couple of days but think it will get used a lot, I got the rack too but am seriously thinking about buying the shallow pan and the dividing pan, as I think I will use them a lot.

As I am on a course (still) I am not doing much OS, but the Panny is about to beep for bread for sandwiches for DS & I. Dinner was cooked in the Monster so very cheap.

The weather here is still raining but the sun is shining in my world - I had the theory part of my exams today and scored 49 out of 50 so am well chuffed. Will treat myself to a bath later and a Baileys. Have a mock exam of the practical tomorrow and then the real thing on Friday, I know I won't do as well in the practical but hey as long as I pass I will be happy, I don't fancy redoing the course!

Right Panny just beeped so will say good night. Take care one and all.

    Lentil pate

    (weezl's recipe from her thread)

    150 grams red lentils

3quarters pint water or veg stock

    2 medium onions

    3 cloves garlic

2 tablespoons olive oil (I used garlic infused olive oil)

    3 teasp mixed herbs

2 slices of bread (as breadcrumbs)

1 teaspoon salt and black pepper

    1 teaspoon white wine vinegar

Wash lentils, drain and put in saucepan. Add water, boil then simmer for 20 mins.

Chop onions and garlic finely (I used a garlic press)

Heat oil - add onion, garlic and herbs - simmer till brown.

Add breadcrumbs to onion mix and cook for a min - then add lentils - season and stir.

Place in loaf tin or bowl and chill in fridge.

I was going to freeze some of it but H has already eaten a third of the tin on his own!
