Hi
Just to let you know of a BAD experience with THE CHANGE GROUP
Ordered £750 worth of dollars on the 18th and paid with my debit card.
Printed off the comfirmation of the order at $1.5107 to the pound which was the highest it has been for a while.
Got a phone call from them the next day saying there has been a problem with the payment and they would have to refund me.
Rang my bank and they said payment has been made to them.
Rang the change group and they said the money would be put back into my account in a couple of hours.
After many phone calls the money has only been transfered today the 23th after being told every time I rang it would be back in my account in a couple of hours.
So not only have I lost out on a good rate on the day ,whilst they have had my cash the rate has gone down even more.
Never again0 -
After speaking with the Post Office Credit Card support team, it would seem that the cash advance fee and interest charges are not applied when the account is in credit.0

If you have a Euro bank account you can save a lot on foreign exchange costs by using:
smartcurrencyexchange.
com/quote.aspx?src=i&trk=63337%C2%A0
The transaction has to be over £500 though but they have better rates than banks. Today they quoute £1 = €1.12
Only problem is you need a Euro account.0 -

Good evening everybody. Im going to Turkey in May and debating whether to get a pre-paid currency card (Caxton) or use my Thomas Cook credit card to get 0% commission cash & £0 handling fee.
However I wondered what which be better?
The Caxton Global card applies 2.5% to the prevailing interbank rate at the time of use.
What would you recommend?0 -
Will have £1,000 saved for our spends.
IYHO would it be best to take sterling and change into Australia dollars once we're there, or buy dollars now and take with us?
Thank you

I was going to take half traveller's cheques and half cash on my holiday to ameria but I'm now thinking of getting a fair fx dollar card. My only concern is what do I do if I go and I come back with credit left, does anyone know if this can be taken back off the pre-paid card or do I just need to ensure I spend up?0

By all means use the Travel Money Maximiser but beware Debit Card charges. As most of best deals are London based then taking cash and collecting is not an option for a lot of people. However, if you bank on line and set up payment to currency provider by using Bill Payment method (i.e. set up payment using currency provider's sort and account codes) rather than using your Debit Card then you will, in all probability, not incur charges from you own bank as they cannot be sure what it is you are buying.0

The MSE guide suggests that fairfx is the cheapest option for prepaid cards. Is this still correct for someone who needs a Euro card for use within the Eurozone (or perhaps CaxtonFX is now better)?0
