Yep. It was just on working lunch. Is this the Cash Card Current Account of which NW says "The Nationwide Cash Card Account is our basic current account. This is most appropriate for customers receiving state benefits or pension."?
For an eSaver it says you must open a flex account to access it so that's still a route to get a flex account and the flex account benefits page says commission free card to use abroad. Or is the NW web site behind the times?0 -

You can't get an e-saver until after you have opened your flex account and got online access.
So it doesn't work if they won't give you a flex account in the first place.0 -

At a guess, American Express themselves.0 -

Quite correct, apologies for poor info.
The poster requesting this could always use the ATM.0 -
Just wondering the following with Nationwide Debit card
- do you have to watch out for the cash machine company possibly charging a fee for using their cash machine?
- do you have to use Visa cash machines?0 -

Q1 - yes, but that's true of any card. In most countries it doesn't happen any more than it does here - banks don't charge, convenience stores, garages, etc, may.
Q2 - cash machines with a visa logo, yes - but that's probably nearly all machines in most parts of the world.0 -
Morning, my first posting on the forums! After looking through a lot of posts re currency I haven't seen a mention of the new Santander Zero current account. OK you have to have a mortgage with Santander and pay in at least £1000 a month but if you meet those criteria you can use your debit card for purchases and ATM withdrawals totally free of charges and interest. Well that's what I was told when I transferred. I'll be putting it to the test in Portugal next week.
I currently have the Zero credit card and yes you do get stung for high interest for ATM withdrawals.0 -
Do a "find" on this thread - Santander certainly has been mentioned.
The real debate seems to be "is it better than the Nationwide worldwide (outside Europe)VISA charge of 1%"
Santander is big in S. America so pop over to Brazil and let us know how you get on.:D0 -
Does anyone know if it's possible to preload the account then just use it to withdraw cash at spanish banks without incurring any sort of fee (rather than use as a credit card which I avoid doing abroad normally)
Cheers
