Which I agree with in principle. However, you could have at least posted the right thread/section link for the newbie instead of only pointing her error, don't you think?
(Note: I don't know what the right thread would be - I only intended to be helpful quickly)

I have a really positive story about no1currency.com
They were listed on the calculator as giving one of the best exchange rates, so I had a look. I needed the €s same day on 12th August as I was going away that evening and their website said I had to book 2 days in advance.
So I phoned the head office and asked if I could go into a branch and collect and still get the online rate. He said no, but if I booked online (no prior payment needed, all payment made upon collection) and put in a collection date of 14th August then they would amend it when it comes through to today.
This in itself struck me as excellent service, so I did it and sure enough half an hour later I had a confirmation email with collection details showing the online rate and today's date for collection.
Herein lies a bit of a human error. The man on the phone hadn't realised that my chosen branch was closed on Tuesdays, so when I went to collect on Tuesday 12th August, the branch was closed. HOWEVER, everything from then on was handled excellently. The branch I went to had a second shop, so I phoned them and explained it all to them, they apologised profusely and said if I was able to make the 15-20 minute drive to their second shop, I could get the €s I had reserved and they would give me an even better rate than I had been quoted online.
So I made the drive, spoke to the man behind the desk who was incredibly friendly and helpful. He compared my online rate with his in-store rate first of all and found the my rate was better than his. Then he phoned head office and explained everything to them and they agreed to let him sell me the Euros at the pure bank exchange rate, with no profit for them at all.
All in all, yes I was messed about a bit, but that was just human error and it was made in the course of trying to help me out. The service I received from start to finish from No1Currency was excellent and I won't hesitate to use them again next time I go away if their rates are comparable.0 -
I have a Halifax Reward credit card with my wife as a second cardholder, and the nice man at the Halifax call centre said I couldn't have a Clarity card. "One customer, one card".
OK, I said, can she have a Clarity card with me as the second cardholder? Of course, he said.
Is it me?0 -
On the page below MSE recommends the Halifax Clarity card as the best rate for changing: pounds/baht ...delivered!

But I can't see anyway of getting currency delivered using this card ...any ideas?0 -
Hi all. I'm needing some help. We are going to the US in October and we are taking my mother in law now she has gone a purchased US Dollars and she is also wanting to get a prepaid card. The question is, are there any cards out there that accepts US Dollars to top up? I told her to wait before changing any money, but nope she went ahead and did it. Now all I'm getting is 'I should have listened to you'!!!
Thanks in advance0 -

I don't know of any such cards
But now she has the currency the best thing is to spend it - That will cost her nothing
To get it onto a card will involve changing it back to sterling (definite cost) and putting it on a card (probable cost) and using the card (probable cost)0 -

You are taking things too literally - it means includes delivery where relevant
You CAN get baht delivered with it - order from a BdeC and pay with it - but you would get the BdeC's rates, not Clarity's, and many of them charge for delivery0 -

Thanks, I thought that would be the case0 -
Hi,
i dont know if this is the right place to post this, but i have $700 leftover from a holiday in the US. happy to sell for £425, which is better than any of the rates available in the currency checker.
Im in Central London and can meet near canary wharf if necessary. I can also meet in birmingham with some planning.
PM me if interested.
