Superb, just phoned up and they've knocked my broadband bill down from £24.99 a month to £16.99 a month!

  • 1899.com have a software download which allows you to make free phone calls via your computer. It's call VoIP Cheap. It's great if you have a microphone & speakers. All you have to do is register for £1 and all the calls you make to uk are free. 0845 etc. cost but for me ringing my family and friends dont cost me a thing.

Another thing all you NTL customers out there, I rang them up saying I was leaving them for another company and they have given me their introductory 1MB broadband service for £9.99. I was paying £17.99 and they said the £9.99 was only for new customers only. All I can say is barter.
  • Hi All,

Just thought you might be interested in this one...

NTL are currently advertising their 1Mb broadband service for £9.99 a month for the first 12 months. Unfortunately I've been with them for about 4 years so I don't officially qualify as its a "Brand New Customers Only" offer.

But... I thought I'd try my luck. I phoned customer services and explained that I was unhappy about paying £24.99 for a substandard 750kb service when they're offering the 1Mb service for only £9.99.

After a little umming and arring and plenty of "But sir... It's brand new customers only"... they gave in. I now have the 1Mb Broadband service for £9.99 a month for the next 12 months. After than it goes to £17.99.

So If you're a currently NTL Broadband user, try your luck... give them a call, you might be lucky and get them to put you on the Introductory tarriff and save yourself a few quid! Worth a phone call for sure :)

Superb board by & website Martin. Have set MSE as my homepage and will be tuning in when you're on Radio 2 in the future :)

    Cheers

    Justin

Welcome to MSE and the Telephone Boards. I am going to merge this post with another thread where users have done just that with NTL and if you check out the Home Phone board you will find users there who have "made that call" and got a good deal with NTL.
